I have backed multiple projects that were fully funded. These projects never came to fruition. Even reaching out to Kickstarter will do nothing. Kickstarter will not support you in any way and help you with scammers. One project collected over $1.2 million and Kickstarter ghosts you just as these scammers do.

Complicit fraudsters
Ghosts no one can contact when fraudulent entities scam backers with fake AI concoctions that never existed. I pledged a total of 180$ to a start up for two items that couldn’t total 5lbs, maybe with packaging, though highly unlikely. Get billed, and locked in upon successful campaign. Weeks later upon submitting shipping information, startup expects me to pay 117$ in shipping fees they never disclosed and would’ve laughed at had I been. Be wary. Kickstarter doesn’t gaf about the blatant fraud and shady business practices strewn throughout their platform…pony up that money sucka! Don’t get me wrong I’ve gotten some interesting items from there, they just apparently lack accountability or don’t care since there’s nothing that can be done about with them. “Report it” still waiting for some sort of acknowledgment three months on.

Kickstarter itself is great. The app sucks.
Don’t waste your money
Got burned on a few items. Got updates at first and then nothing. Investors contacted Kickstarter and never get a response. Only to find the items sold on Amazon and other websites. So the companies take your money and make the product but you get nothing and no support from Kickstarter.

New feature broke app
Wow total lack of testing before rolling this out can’t do anything in the app now
missing obvious features
Please let the app have all (or at least most) features as the website. It seems bizarre that, in 2026, we can't change our userpic in the app on our phone. You know, *our phone*. Where we all have images of ourselves. Thank you in advance.
More organization support would be useful
As it stands, the app is okay, but clunky and is missing some basic project/campaign support for backers to stay informed.
It would be a great update to the app if a calendar function could be integrated where backers could see when projects were projected to be delivered. (We don’t need to see all the projected timeline stuff, although it might be nice to also see when funding closes for backed projects too ;) ).
It would make the app more user friendly and organized and save people- backers from clicking around to responsibly follow up on their investments and support.
Alternatively, a sorting option for the “backed” projects listed. Maybe by projected delivery date or whether it has been funded or not? Same with delivered or not. I appreciate the toggle button within each campaign but an overall portrait would be useful.

No support for backer
They do not help the backers after the campaign ends, when the creators take your money and don’t respond to emails, Kickstarter just coordinates SCAMMERS together claiming to be creators just to take your money
Laggy, buggy mess
I never write reviews, just letting you know this app runs like absolute garbage on current gen phones. Constantly lags and changes your view, honestly impressive they’ve made an app this low in features perform so badly.

Kickstarter Never Responds
I backed a campaign in May 2024 for this item called ChicGarlique. Over 2 years later and nothing. Everyone who backed is complaining and NOONE has done a damn thing at Kickstarter. I won’t be backing anymore campaigns and Kickstarter should be ASHAMED! The owner of the campaign hasn’t given an update in over a year. Got thousands and thousands from backers ($93,000) and they just stole the money. How can Kickstarter allow this to happen?

Terrible UI
Where’s the price? Cant see the price for like 9/10 projects. Don’t want to “back this project” until I know how much it cost. Doom scrolled all the way down and didn’t see any pricing. Why?? Makes no sense

Don’t waste your money. Some of creators didn’t so the any pictures of the production progresses, which meant they are scammers. However, Kickstarter won’t back you up to get money back. Don’t waste your money and your time
Kickstarter - scammer’s paradise
Kickstarter is a great idea in theory but when projects don’t materialise they do nothing at all to help backers whose money has been stolen. No avenue exists to return money to backers who are cheated. Avoid this platform.

Super concept mais pas assez de contrôle
J’adore le concept et j’ai suivi beaucoup de projet depuis des années. L’application est simple à utiliser et on s’y retrouve facilement. Je déplore par contre le manque d’encadrement en cas de projets non livrés ou de fausses campagnes. C’est dommage car les projets sont hyper intéressants mais si c’est juste pour se faire plumer et ne jamais avoir l’objet du financement entre les mains, autant ne rien investir.
