Good, but not anymore
Kinnu is pretty good wealth of knowledge, but I believe they rely heavily on AI and have mediocre course material. The learning model is good, but the actual course material is not the best if an expert in the field wrote it.
I recently delved deep into the chess course to test the waters because chess was a subject that I knew a lot about. The advice for chess is mediocre in the first few lessons, and they use AI pictures that do not represent an actual chess match. A specific example that I can cite of the top of my head is the Scholar’s mate part in ‘mating patterns’: they advised 2…g6 to avoid 2.Qh5. This is how you lose a rook. They also do not give specific illustration on the difference between Arabian and Anastasia mate in that lesson. The chess course over all isn’t going to put good habits in a novice chess player.
I do feel really bad for users of this app because they have a donation system now where people pay monthly for this AI slop.

Positively addictive
Love this app and the beautifully curated contents. Being a visual learner, it is so much fun to learn about new concepts and repeat in a way that it really sticks. Other apps left me frustrated trying to remember which paths of learning I started and how to keep track. This just happens naturally without any efforts in Kinnu. Thank you for this beautiful app

Very useful and well laid out
However there is one thing I would change. Is that once you are reading it would be good to have a timeline at the top of the page of text, eg like circa 1492 etc as sometimes the reader may get lost
GenAI usage
I did a couple of lessons and noticed the images had captions stating they were made using AI. While I can appreciate admitting to its use, I think it’s ridiculous to use AI to make a Venn diagram. Aside from the AI use, there are no sources cited or authors of lessons credited. It really makes you wonder if what you’re learning is actual fact or not.

This app has changed how I view the game universe, doing the astronomy course, it has helped me a lot. 100/10 definitely recommend.
Knowledge one bite at a time
My then 20 yr old Granddaughter recommended Kinnu to aid any age-related slip in mental deterioration.
Now, life is not a controlled experiment so there’s no way to compare this stage of life with the alternate universe but this app and system seems to be adding, not subtracting so yay!

AI use
At first I was fascinated with this app it was great! But now that I found out basically everything on the app is AI, I’m uninstalling.

Amazing! Need more topics
Recently downloaded and have been loving the format and bite sized lessons you can get for various topics. I hope the devs can provide an extensive list of topics to add to keep users engaged. Hoping this app gains more attention!
Great app, lots of room for improvement.
First, I’d like to acknowledge the AI use. One of the first pathways I started had an AI image, and I started to have doubts. However, I explored other topics and found that they mostly use public domain images. I understand there is only so much they can do with copyrighting and images, so I can let it slide.
Recently, I was working on learning about Greek Philosophy. As I got about 20% in, I got notified that the pathway has been updated and I would have to start over if I wanted to get the update. This is frustrating because 1.) I had to redo topics that didn’t change at all and 2.) I am now unsure if anything I am learning is 100% true, as they can get updated to be “more correct” at any moment.
I really love the app and want to keep using it, but now it is hard because there is a chance what I am learning is incorrect.
Besides that, I love the flow of everything and think the quizzes are a great idea. A big problem I have with the quizzes is they seem to be focused on unimportant facts or just the names of things I have learned. It’s a great help in recalling the name of an idea or person, but I struggle to actually explain what the topic is.

Inaccurate information being presented as fact- great concept for an app but would be nice if it was actually made by human experts as opposed to generative ai

I am a teen and I have been using this app and it has improved my knowledge of WW2 and skin which is what I’m interested in and I have learnt so much and instead of just fact they give us real learning and make it fun by choosing your own pfp and unlocking pfps by completing topics and I would highly recommend this for anyone who has a curious mind!(I sound like a parent ✌️)

Great app but content could be a bit better
Just needs better wording for the textual content. Content in some modules are repetitive, saying the same point again with slightly different wording which detracts from the apps purpose to deliver bite sized learning. Great concept and experience otherwise though
