About

The home canner's process companion — tested numbers, cited, adjusted to YOUR altitude. Larder gives water-bath and pressure canners the exact processing facts for 53 USDA-tested foods, free: times, pressures, and headspace from the USDA/NCHFP home-canning guides, with the source cited on every result. Where no tested process exists, Larder says exactly that — it never invents a number. EVERYTHING YOU NEED AT THE CANNER • Process Time & Pressure — pick your food, jar size, and pack style; get the tested processing time, dial- or weighted-gauge pressure, and headspace, automatically adjusted to your elevation. Low-acid foods are never offered a water-bath option — the safe method is built in, not a footnote. • Guided Canning Session — the whole run as a step-by-step timer: prep, venting, pressurizing, processing and cool-down, then a jar-rest reminder for the seal check. Stage alerts arrive even with your phone locked, and a Live Activity keeps the countdown on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. You can process longer, never shorter. • Altitude, set once — enter your elevation one time; every number in the app adjusts. Full altitude tables, including above 8,000 feet wherever a tested process exists. • Yield & Jar Planner — how much produce for a canner load, or how many jars from what you picked. Purchasing amounts round up, so you never come home short. • Ferment Brine % — salt by weight for crock and refrigerator ferments, with the convention stated right on screen. SHOWS ITS SOURCES Every result names the guide it came from and the altitude adjustment it applied. Check it against your book any time. That's the point. YOUR BATCH JOURNAL & PANTRY (PRO) Save each run as a batch — the exact process it was run with, jar counts, lid lots, notes. Check seals after the 12–24 hour rest and your pantry updates itself. See what's on the shelf, when it was canned and its NCHFP best-quality window, and export a clean pantry and batch list. Free saves one full batch so you can try everything; Larder Pro unlocks the unlimited journal and export. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No ads. No tracking. Works completely offline. Your batches live on your device and sync privately through your own iCloud. LARDER PRO Yearly $19.99 or Monthly $2.99 (auto-renewing). Unlimited batches + export — the calculators and guided sessions are free forever. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings. Terms of Use: https://evelaina.com/larder/terms Privacy Policy: https://evelaina.com/larder/privacy Larder presents tested processes from the USDA and the National Center for Home Food Preservation and makes no health or safety claims of its own. Always follow a tested recipe.

What's New in Larder

1.0.1

September 3, 2026

New screenshots and Larder's first App Store preview. Two screens the listing never showed before: the batch record — the exact method, time, pressure, headspace and altitude a batch was run with, kept as it was run — and the Ferment Brine tool. Nothing in the tables has moved. Every tested process, time, pressure, headspace and altitude band is still exactly what the USDA/NCHFP guides publish, still cited on every result, and still adjusted to the elevation you set. Canning season: set your elevation once in the Altitude tool and every lookup applies the published band for it.
