Device successfully connects to hotspot but app still says Not Connected. Hopefully they push a fix sometime.

Fails to connect to the engraving device
The device connects to the mobile hotspot, but the app fails to recognise the device connection.
The App DOES Work
You need to enable “Maximize Compatibility” in the IOS hotspot settings in order for it to connect properly. If you don’t see that setting, you need to update your phone.
I haven’t had any issues with the app, does the job. The app could be made a little nicer but again it works.
I do dislike that it has to connect through hotspot and not through Bluetooth or WiFi.

App says not connected phone says it is. That’s the nicest thing I can say after hours of trying
Pretty good
Works pretty well on my iPhone.
Just set up a tethering network and it automatically connects. Pretty simple.
Included word art and images work well.
Sometimes freezes when trying to use photo’s though. I guess it takes a lot of cpu to convert an image to a format the engraver can understand.

Needs a few tweaks
Once you get over the trips and traps, the app is easy to use. The English instructions are not that clear though. Had to Google and YouTube for help as none easy to find from the source. There’s a K6 user group on Facebook that has a lot of good resources.
This app is missing a few features that the desktop version has such as "center the image" button, "save" function, and changing from "carve" to "cut" modes.
The connectivity is unreliable, but achievable. (Have only used on iPhone 8plus) Rarely can you do 2 images one after another without re-connecting and re starting the app. So it’s best suited for one-off projects, not short run productions.
The turn on order is important to get a consistent connection. First, turn on the K6, (wait 6 seconds) then on the phone, "allow others to connect" with the hotspot. (Wifi must be off and use "aaaabbbb"). Finally, load the app and create or load your image to burn.
I find that if you spend too much time setting up the image, the connection drops out before it can be sent to the K6 unit. And then you have to close the app and restart the connection process all over again. So this app works best with single images stored on your phone.
The K6 does an excellent job when the right settings are tweaked in for the particular material being cut or burned, but this review is about the app not the K6 unit. Again, the app needs some improvements to come up to par with the PC version.

Great app when connected correctly!
When first using this app I thought it just wouldn’t work with my laser engraver. It was not connecting at first but with a little back and forth with the WiFi connection on the iPhone and the laser engraver it finally connected and worked flawlessly. I give this 5 stars because it does exactly what it says it’s going to do and works phenomenally replacing my laptop all together.

WiFi does not work
This application blows. The only way to use this engraver is via a PC or Mac , period.

It won’t connect with my iPhone 6s Plus one reason I bought it was so I could use it off my phone
Poor programming and design
Not a great app to work on. The lack of languages to use make it near impossible to know what you are doing. Very inefficient and not able to be detailed.
It’s just as bad as the desktop/Mac version. At least this one works with the laser. The desktop on is very buggy

Wi-Fi doesn’t connect
Pretty much a useless device, purchased from Kickstarter. My unit doesn’t seem to broadcast a hotspot address, so I can only print via direct connection. What a waste!

Can’t connect the K6 to the app - instructions are unclear as the English translations in the manual are very poor. Needs more English support for the app and device itself

The app requires that you use the built in iOS personal hotspot and set the password to something static that the vendor provides.
The lack of true Wi-Fi support, the requirement of the mobile service provider’s hotspot (some of which you have to pay extra for), but worse the terrible security that this all means (no firewall or other network controls, since you give them a direct connection to the internet via the hotspot), the password which the vendor requires you use (you don’t set it they give you the password you’re supposed to secure your hotspot with), makes for a security nightmare and a huge risk.
On top of that, no support either from the app developer or from the manufacturer of the device that this app allows you to use makes for a completely terrible experience.

Horrible noise from unit
Out of the box, followed manual, plugged in turned it on and it had this horrible grinding noise. It will not print nor will the engraving head move.
Got it to work with this app. It works as advertised
Watched the YouTube over and over. Tried on two different phones. Tried everything but the app wouldn’t connect. The password was wrong. For IOS it is aaaabbbb
Finally got it to work and figured out how to adjust settings ha so it works on different materials. Considering the price point, it’s good. There is a Language barrier and it takes a long time to laser an image.
It took so long to get the machine, I am very happy we got it to work.
