Downtrend Star - Still stuck on important bits with limited functionality
Lattics does an amazing job handling what other writing apps don’t..However, my opinion is that it does fail on what you may have taken for granted before.
The reality is that I have still not written anything useful with Lattics, due to problems that I feel have not been prioritised.
So as of now, sadly 5->4->3->2->1
This is my realworld experience, and although others may score differently, it reflects my frustration with driving this tool.
Like many, you may start with a different format…. But Lattics does not have you covered with imports:
(1) Imports
Lattics will add a link..
But it won’t give a hierarchy .
NOT THROUGH DOCX
NOT THROUGH RTF
NOT THROUGH RTFD
NOT THROUGH OPML
So the import function immediately strikes down users with large documents.
What could solve it is relatively simple routine, to covert any of these formats into markdown. While preserving documents links and image links.
Standing back, I feel let down, as more sophisticated functions are prioritised, and basic usability hurdles remain unresolved for me.
Scrivener for example has extensive fine tuning, but Lattics skips. This is fair enough. But equally this doesn’t make it better than scrivener (as some claim). Just different. Working together is more powerful result overall.
(2) Designed to be used alongside other Apps
Hence the value of Lattics would improve if it worked well alongside other apps. This goes with the clever no fiddle approach for things Lattics does so well. Suggestion - check easy import export of more complex longer documents with links and images. Make turnkey.
(3) Remaining shortcut keys
The insistence is still on drag and drop or copy and paste.
The bottom-line. The actual shortcut keys I need for speed, are missing.
This would be indirectly be served by a good import exit to omnioutliner, which does the document sequencing much better.

Shortcuts missing / publication writing value limited
Surprised the developer wants to use cut and paste. This slows down the writing process. Why not a shortcut, as this is clearly faster?
Thanks for incorporating at one level, but the rest has these slow downs. With many features it unfortunately gets in the way of work flow.
It's like a dashboard with too many dials bells and whistles. Ironically, having lots of options eats into thinking. Many times I've spend an hour playing with the feature. But not writing.
My star rating has kept going lower as I've used it, because the application is not productive for me. I'm caught in the features and their adjustment I keep finding bugs. I'm not centrally placed in the actual content I want to write. I've used it for a year and I have not a single document from it.
I would definitely not write a publication with it, due to distraction. I'm hoping it may get better. The ideas are great. It's a shame because I was a five star reviewer when I used it first.
What could help improve are case studies of usage. To see exactly how something has been written, and what exactly comes out. This would save users time. Ensure features are used as intended.
At the moment for teaching the small video clips are inadequate for the complexity. It needs proper usage examples for users. For example I still can't use something as basic as the templates and formatting consistently. I know the effort has gone in, but its still frustrating to use when you want to do real work.
Never judge anything by its cover, but always be patient. I will keep checking back..

Want to love this but…
This app has so much potential. Just spent several hours trying to find something more modern than Scrivener (collapsable, indentable lists, markdown) and more tailored to publishing than Obsidian (custom ordered sections, reliable doc export). Unfortunately the performance of the mindmap was awful, and drag-and-drop reordering of docs is brittle (barely works unless I’m pixel perfect). Nice idea to allow dragging paragraphs to reorder, but would be nice with an AI to make sure the content still flows properly. No idea why there’s a timeline in there, and flashcards are irrelevant. Can’t see how to drag and drop cards which defeats the point… Would like an outliner mode to quickly navigate in a subdocument, and ability to collapse headings like Obsidian. This should be a writing app, not a hodgepodge of different ideas. Lots of potential but for now not worth it for me, especially since it’s subscription and I only write to organise my thoughts.
