Hope it’s better on Oculus

I hope the app is better on Oculus. Going to try it. On the iphone it’s neither convenient to use, nor are there any but the most rudimentary Russian lessons teaching a few nouns.

Not of too a good start

This is a great idea and I want to use it to practice Romanian, but the Google login mechanism is broken. It keeps telling me there was a transport error after I confirm with 2fa, so I can’t sign up that way.

Seems great if it worked

I just installed it today to start learning Dutch and was really looking forward to this approach/visuals rather than the original Mondly app. I have completed the safari or Animal experience multiple times now but am stuck there. As soon as I finish saying elephant, she says for advanced speakers now we can have a conversation, I press continue and she just stands there. I’ve pressed on her, tried talking to her, and I’ve looked around. There’s nothing for me to do. I don’t know what else I’m supposed to do or where I’m supposed to go, so I quit to go back to the main screen and go back in and I have to do it all over again. Again, I’ve done this multiple times now and nothings changing, so would love to know how I am supposed to fully complete the first lesson with the animals to move forward in the learnings.

Wrong billing

I chose the unlimited usage offer and I was changed accordingly. However one day later I got the bad surprise that Apple is charging the cost paid as one year subscription. That is not what I chose !!!!!!!very disappointed and will ask for refund.

App is complicated

I don’t know how to get things working each time I want to start up where I left off. The reminder options don’t tell me what the scrolling numbers are. Better explanation needed

Nice concept, poor execution

Examples. The “instructor” says “in Italian to say cat you say cat.”Actually, you say gatto…

“repeat after me” *immediately after* “I didn’t get that” Of course not. You didn’t give me a chance to say anything…You should be away for this to work on a horizontal screen. My device holder does not go vertical. Pretty simple, I would think.

I like the Mondly program, but I really hate this one.

Good idea but the implementation is frustrating

I love the idea of a character I can converse with. However, the augmented reality part needs some major work.

I can’t get the character to stick to the ground, and the app won’t let me minimize the size of the character. It prompts you to find floor space to place it, but then its almost impossible to get the character to stand directly on the floor. It would be great if I could place the teacher on my desk. But instead, the app assumes you have a full-sized basketball court for a living room, and insists on the character being full-sized. So you end up with this character floating in the air and holding up the phone to talk to them. Eventually your arm gets tired and you give up.
