No way to reconnect!
I tied only with US phone number. Once logged off, I couldn’t login at all due to the recent account regulation change. If you don’t tie with any other account like Google, you lost your connection completely. This company doesn’t provide any supports on this issue.
No phone number
Forever locked out of my account

They will not let me transfer my account to my new phone or create a new one
New Phone. Can’t use
Swapped to a new iPhone and now can’t verify my mobile number which means I’m completely locked out of ever getting back in. Terrible logic.
New phone transfer nightmare
Changing to a new phone should not feel like a nightmare, yet LINE’s account transfer process is exactly that. Verification, backups, login, and device switching are confusing and easy to mess up, and one wrong step can put chat history at risk. Is anyone actually managing this app? For such a widely used messaging app, the phone transfer experience is unbelievably poorly designed.

I really don’t understand why i can’t translate within the app
Almost all of the apps nowadays have a translation function. For almost everything. But LINE DOESNT. If i could i would definitely erase it but since in japan everything is through line then that is the main reason why i keep it. But honestly. How csn you guys dont have a translation system inside the app? Ridiculous

Unable to transfer
Much like everybody else who’s left a review, my issue is that I’m unable to transfer my account from my previous phone. This issue MUST be fixed as none of us can access our own accounts so we essentially can’t even use the service. This is a total failure of the company for something incredibly basic and quite common. It’s plenty common for being to forget migrating accounts to their new phones after getting rid of their old ones (in fact, that’s what you basically must do for iPhones), and not only this, but what would someone do if their phone broke and became unusable and suddenly they’re unable to transfer their Line account because of this? There’s absolutely nothing they could do and that’s surely not fair to them. So this isn’t just an issue of mindfulness. Please, fix this issue so that we may all access our original LINE accounts!

new phone using the same apple id
honestly? even though it was pretty frustrating the first time i tried to log back into my account, i actually did manage to get it back! long story short, i got a new phone and discarded my old one; problem is, i didnt know that my LINE wouldn't connect immediately. due to regional problems, i couldnt do anything about a phone number either. finally, i contacted support, i sent them proof of ownership. after waiting a few days, i finally got my account back without having to worry about losing my LINE account permanently! thanks to their active customer service, i truly appreciate their quick response. without them, LINE would be nothing!

Login issues
Same as all other one star reviews. Somehow my account is banned, cannot log in. Seems completely random. Just wanted the app to communicate with family in Taiwan.
USA can’t use Line anymore
Been use this apps for long time, now in US can’t use phone number or to gmail account link , no longer getting in Line all off now , is that Line is end ? No support response. What the apps.
Lost Everything!
Due to the change of discontinuation of numbers for global besides Asia, Japan, etc. I lost all of my chats, stickers, and friends once I got a new device. Whatever you do, make sure to keep your last device so you can transfer safely.
★☆☆☆☆
I was eventually able to recover my account thanks to LINE Customer Support, but the process was extremely confusing.
In countries where phone number verification is no longer available, users should be clearly warned before changing devices if they haven’t linked their Apple Account or Google account.
There is an account recovery process through customer support, but it’s not easy to find. I almost created a new account because I thought my account was permanently lost.
What made it even more confusing was that I first contacted support through the Japanese-language inquiry form (my native language) and was essentially told there was no way to transfer my account because I hadn’t linked Apple or Google in advance. However, when I contacted the English-language support, they explained the document verification process and guided me through recovering my account successfully.
The recovery option exists, but users shouldn’t have to discover it by chance or by contacting support in a different language.
Another major issue is chat history. Because automatic chat backup wasn’t enabled, I lost about seven years of chat history after recovering my account. I understand this was partly my mistake, and I’ve already enabled daily automatic backups. However, LINE should do a much better job of reminding users to turn on automatic backups before they switch devices.
It was also frustrating that I couldn’t manage account linking from the desktop version of LINE, even though I still had full access to my account there. If desktop account linking isn’t supported in some regions or versions, that limitation should be clearly explained. If it is technically possible, adding that feature would make account recovery much easier for users in situations like mine.
Please make the account recovery process much clearer, remind users to link both their Apple Account and Google account before switching devices, encourage automatic chat backups, and improve the desktop version so users have more recovery options. These changes would save many users from unnecessary panic and prevent avoidable data loss.

Terrible app transfer
The QR code does not read.
Don’t us if you’re from USA
Stupid app only designed for Asian countries now. It used to be easy to log in with my phone number but they’ve changed it to where you can only use your Apple ID to log in. Which when I signed up 10 years ago I used my Google account not Apple ID. Because the emails are the same it thinks I already have an account and won’t let me in

Poor privacy design (access to photos)
I wanted to add someone by scanning their LINE QR code. After granting Camera permission, LINE still refused to open the camera until I also granted Photos access.
Camera permission should be sufficient for live QR scanning. Photos permission should only be requested if I choose to scan a QR code from an image in my photo library.
This creates unnecessary friction for privacy-conscious users and blocks a common task unless we grant an unrelated permission. Please allow QR code scanning with Camera permission only.

Useless
Line makes it very difficult to log in and the verification process is ridiculously unacceptable. They change the way how you can login and logout . I changed my new phone and can’t login via Apple ID because they only send the verification code through your Line account which you can’t see them unless you logged in. How stupid is that? I have used Line more than 10 years . I lost my first account that have all my old friends contacts and lost my second account just because I changed my phone number and now is the third time that I am losing another account. Why can’t you just go back to the way it used to be where we can use user name and password. Send verification code through email or phone number. That’s all your customer needs.

Terrible
Horrible how you aren’t able to log in using ur phone number anymore. I spent money on themes and stickers tried contacting line using their help services and only been getting automatic bot responses with no solution whatsoever
Cannot log in, customer service non-existent
I purchased a lot of stickers and themes over the past several years, but it’s all lost now. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app on my phone, and now I can’t log in with my phone number (apparently this is not supported in the US anymore) and I have to log in with Apple or Google. Well guess what? I didn’t make my account with Apple or Google. I used my phone number to make my account years ago, and now I can’t log in? And not even a warning????

Fix your Dang App
It’s just a normal texting app, THATS fine. However, one mistake, and it just block you from doing anything. Even if it follows the guidelines, it’ll still kick you. I’ve basically lost contact with my friends because of this stupid glitch. Fix the dang app, cause support ain’t helping.
