No useful functionality

Trying to update my profile, my photos. Nothing saves. Nothing at all. I tried on my phone data, tried on wifi. Neither work, which indicates it’s the functionality of the app itself.

Trains of thought

so … onward. Not so long ago, I was in a small group of stream of consciousness types just shooting the breeze, so to speak. One girl then brought up the simplest to understand, the most obvious, the globally acknowledged non-verbal gesture a person could give those around her/him regarding intentions. One boy said the thumbs up. One other girl said the byebye wave. One woman said the a-okay sign. One man said sticking out one’s tongue. One boy said moving thumbnail across throat. One girl said the middle finger. One other woman said shrugging with palms up. One other said frowning. Me? I just smiled. I think my gesture is the most universal. Anybody agree?

Diminishing returns

Linkedin was invaluable to the job search in 2016. Now, in 2026, this is pretty unrecognizable. AI features are a mess, human Support is impossible to reach. There are no formatting tools for profile editing so importing information is laborious and requires a lot of manual adjustment. The timeline feed is irrelevant. I don’t need Facebook replicated on this app. LinkedIn also does not comply with state laws regarding job salary transparency. Salaries for jobs in states with this posting requirement are often not included and it appears that LinkedIn isn’t doing its due diligence to ensure compliance. Profile views by prospective employers are controlled by 2 pay to play devices- forced engagement within the social media feeds, and paying for Premium. Premium is also a mess. What it seems to reliably do is block the IDs of employers who are monitoring employee profiles. I have not gained any better job matches or functional profile edits by having Premium.
UPDATE: the developer feedback was not helpful. My issue has been in queue for a human to look at since I posted this review. Their support bots aren’t doing anything about the scam recruiters that I have reported for using fake jobs for phishing scams. The reports are coming back almost immediately with the decision that the scammers aren’t violating TOS. In queue for a human to respond to this too.

Worst app

One of the worst app where every feature is broken. Even captcha is so strict that humans can’t solve it

Terrible flagging system

I only just got LinkedIn yesterday. My first experience is for me to spend so much time making my profile, making sure it’s accurate, for me to wake up the next day and my account is restricted for no reason. There is no reliable way to communicate with an actual person if unable to login to your own account. I’m sorry but if your platform is constantly flagging real people as robots then there’s definitely something wrong. I was ALREADY verified via persona! I had a tick on my account. That ITSELF proves I’m an actual person so why was still flagged as a bot? I try logging in and it wants me to do a captcha that always fails. I do not understand what the developers were thinking honestly, it’s the worst experience I’ve had and I’ve not even used the app properly yet! Now everytime im gonna use it ( if my account gets restored ) im going to constantly be thinking how to not act like a robot so I don’t get flagged. Which is acc ridiculous for me to even have to think about.

I also noticed how buggy it was when typing up my profile, it was just start lagging as I’m typing so I had to keep exiting the app and refreshing it .

This flagging system is more of a hindrance to real people trying to use LinkedIn than it is for bots to be actually identified. It’s really stupid how you want people to send ID to verify they’re real but then have a separate system that flags people by their activity despite being verified…

Buggy and awful

Really buggy new commenting UX. when you edit a comment the app crashes.

Videos are destroying LinkedIn

This is not a social media website. It is a professional network. The video feature introduces just poor quality content to LinkedIn. Please think again what the long term strategy is as the world really does not need another short video platform.

New release - TRASH

This is the 10th time since the last update that I had to delete and download the app. After asking around in social, it sounds like it's the new dance. After you post a picture or video, it gets stuck and you have no choice but to delete and download the app to continue using it

Great App, 1 minor complaint

This is a great app to connect with others in the professional world. The 1 complaint I have is that while you can add images to most of the sections on your profile, there is no option to add photos under the “organizations” section. I would like to see this added in a future update because I believe it would keep the photos on my profile more organized and relevant to the section they are in.

Decent, but buggy and could be more robust

Some things I’ve noticed over the years I’ve used this app:

Recently, I see that job alerts aren’t filtering as they used to. When getting a job alert with set filters, if I select “verified jobs” only or sort from “most recent”, even the ones that are verified jobs will fall off. Even sorting it will cause jobs to fall off. It didn’t used to have this issue.

Also, when you click on a “apply” and it takes you to the company website, the app no longer asks you to “did you apply to this job, yes or no”. Now, I have to sign into the website to see this option and select “yes” to track the jobs I applied to.

A feature request would be the ability to filter by company size. I’ve asked this for a while, but I really hope this is a thing soon. Being able to create a job alert that filters by certain company-sizes, more job posting date options, and “verified jobs” only would be ideal. Currently, job alerts do not save filters that include “verified jobs” only.

Furthermore, selecting that you don’t want to see as much posts from this author, topic, political content, etc. in your LinkedIn newsfeed doesn’t ever seem to work. If you close the app and go back, similar posts or even the same one are right there again. It doesn’t seem to teach the algorithm anything. The only option is to unfollow someone, but I would hope that you can select those other options to not see as much of those types of posts, etc. without having to straight up do that all the time. It should also automatically unfollow people you disconnected with after you re-follow them manually.

I also am noticing issues with notifications. You should be able to control job alert notifications better. I don’t need to get random notifications about a random company hiring, especially if I shut off job recommendation notifications. The job alert notifications and these random job recommendations or company recommendations are directly connected and they shouldn’t be. You should be able to choose/edit a time for when the job alert notifies you. You also used to be able to control notifications you get when you interact with a post. Now, if you interact with a post, you get notifications for everything. You should only get notifications if you follow the post and want to be notified on everything. Other than that, you should just get notifications for activities on your comments only. It used to be like this, but it’s changed.

Update: I don’t know why you changed how the job filtering is. It’s horrible. Having filters put in with the keywords still picks up random jobs that you would’ve filtered out before. This AI job search sucks.

BEST APP EVER!!!

I am so empowered and so love this app. I am able to follow employment info and business networking research everyday no matter where i’m located. 10/10

Removed Filtering Capabilities That Worked for Me

I use this app to look for a full-time job so I had specific filters set for my job search but one day I opened the app and those filters disappeared and was replaced with the option to only "describe" the job that I want and it has been the worst user experience because now I'm unable to specifically filter what kind of job I'm looking for it's prompting me to describe. I don't want to do that because it doesn't even filter it correctly as it's forcing me to use AI to search for jobs and now I can't specifically use the filters that was helping me find what I need to find because this AI search functionality is not working the way that I need to. I don't like to use any other job search apps except for Indeed which has its negatives. But now I feel like I can't even use LinkedIn because of this new functionality that's been forced upon me.

Unsatisfied Clarification

Such a great platform to use, but I am not even sure why I got deducted twice for consecutive two months but there’s no subscription at all. Chat only with bot is the only option that I have.

New AI-powered search has made finding jobs a nightmare

I’m a new college graduate trying to find a job and the new AI-powered search has been horrendous. It fails to properly sort results and keeps giving me the same 10-15 job postings on repeat. I’m giving this 1-star since if the job searching on the job platform is bad, we’ve got a problem. Please revert it to the old system that worked instead of chasing an AI trend.

Terrible Service

My account was hacked and deleted. When I submitted a help request to LinkedIn, I received no reply. My account had been totally removed. If I try to log in, it is not recognised at all, I have tried forgot password but this does not work as the email is not recognised or registered anymore. However if I try to create a new account, I cannot as the email already exists. The team at LinkedIn will not help, and you need to be logged into an account for all other types of help request. The request I submitted was specifically for hacked/ deleted accounts. I am really disappointed in this and very upset I cannot get my account back.

Seems Like AI Slop

Microslop sloping everywhere.

New ai job search makes app useless

Whomever thought it was a good idea to force users into this ai search functionality which is absolutely terrible and breaks all filters, etc, should never work in tech again.
