Unable to send a message

The 1st attempt to use this app failed miserabley as I was unabe to send a message and will instead have to text or call the clinic in the morning. We do not want to have Push Notifications enabled on our desktop and apparently there is no email messaging, only chats which require this to be enabled. Very disappointing.
