No longer free
Loved but disappointed now
However, after this last update I can no longer get past the “force-you-to-buy” page and enjoy the app as its advertised as free OR paid usage.
The note on the screen says try it free for 7 days, but in order to get pad that screen you *have* to pay for the subscription or you can’t use the app at all. I’ve been using Mellow for well over 6 months now and find this extremely disappointing. $20 doesn’t seem like much, but being on a fixed income, that’s a lot of money - and forcing people to pay to keep using an app advertised as free, is just plain unethical.
I’ll be deleting the app, and will no longer recommend the app like I have been.

I’m writing this review because after noticing the subscription feature, I’m unsure if I’m going to have to pay, given the “continue using the app for free for 7 days” message. Does this mean a free 7 day trial with all features, or that the app will cease to be free entirely in the future? I hope I can use it for free with ads instead of being unable to use it without a subscription, as if it requires a subscription unfortunately I would have to delete the app and I’m sure many would do the same.
Keep up the good work and please allow a free option!

Poor performance and communication
It also need to be clearer about the rules for submitting works. I have seen works like series of cute simple selfies can be accepted but long hours of dedicated works are rejected. The most jarring thing in this process is they can’t give you a clear reason , it is just up to the artists to guess on their own how to have their works published.
For now, I will give myself a break. This app has given me more negative vibes than before. If there is any changes in the way they function, for now I suggest artists stick with friendlier platforms like artstation, deviantart, instagram, pinterest and more.
I hope artist be cautious of where they want to display their hard works.

About rejection of the works, we are sorry though we cannot reply the detailed reasons. However, there are some reasons for non-approval; ・Inappropriate content (e.g. violence, sexual content) ・The images are not properly arranged. (e.g., tilted, burred etc.) ・The quality of the work does not meet our standards We would appreciate for your understanding and keep enjoying Mellow app.

Multiple frustrating issues
I am also an artist and thought this could be a cool, fun way to get some of my art seen. But no, that doesn’t seem to work as it should either. I submitted a piece and the next day it was accepted and my account became an artist account. Then I submitted another piece and soon after my account was reverted to a normal one and my previous piece removed. No explanation, no clear reason why. Soo I go try to get in touch with support to see what the heck happened, and lol and behold I can’t click the button to submit my query. Everything on the form was properly filled out, it just wouldn’t let me click on the submit button, as it was still greyed out. So after being frustrated for a few minutes, I promptly deleted the app and came here to complain in the one way left that I have hope for someone to see this.

Don’t listen to Bad Reviews
There is not a bug anymore, they obviously patched it and it’s a wonderful app now for art connoisseurs, art lovers, and art amateurs. Each set of artwork I get is more and more beautiful and what I love. Highly recommend this app to pass the time.
