I’ve had this app for years to the point it’s one of the apps I refuse to delete.
Useless support
There are definitely fake accounts (like on any platform) but support is useless. I put in a cancellation request and it is day of, so I’m sitting here waiting for the “seller” to cancel. This person deleted everything on their account after I bought a perfume from them, and their reviews are fake. I should have been led gullible, but still. Obviously they never shipped the product. Yet all support can say is “Duurrrr we have to wait for the seller 🤡🤡🤡🤡” what’s the point of contacting if you’re not going to take action? 🤷♀️ How useless. I’ll be mindful to not use this app often. Thanks for nothing.

Quick and accurate
This was my first purchase on Mercari and I’m so pleased. Seller is on it. Boots are pristine. So happy with my experience.

Everything for the most part has been pretty cool. I like how some people get back to you right away and ship everything out very fast, but unfortunately, there are a lot of reseller on here that gouge prices for people so funnest but other than that, the prices are good and I love the stuff on the app. Highly recommend.

Made my account inactive a few hours after I created it. Please fix this issue.

Apparently this app is only for scammers. Submitted my first purchase on Mercari where they accepted my funds and then immediately flag and shut down my account. I’ve requested details and an explanation for days now with email/phone and no response. They still have my funds and I have no item. This is garbage and will be pursuing legal action.

Sell at your own risk
Easy to be accused of selling fake items and not chance to prove accusation is wrong. Selling real stuff-new or used? Go else where.
Great App - A few things to improve
I’ve been selling/buying on the platform for years. The major issue is the mobile application when it comes to uploading photos. Often times when bulk uploading the system will have an error and only upload a few at a time. This happens constantly. Which requires either figuring out which photos didn’t upload to reupload or delete all of them and reuosd again. Doubling the time just to upload photos.
Also, many api issues on phone or pc when listing which prevents listings from being posted which requires saving as a draft and then posting from a different source to get your listing up.
Other than the shift from seller fees years ago removed a lot of the momentum it had as a consistent traffic source of motivated buyers. It’s never recovered to before the shift happened even though seller fees are back.
Overall a good app with a good traffic source but back end tech issues. Has become more of a secondary marketplace for me as opposed to primary. Could use better UI and improvement in users base c volume.

Could be better!
This site takes a lot of sellers profit and the shipping prices don’t reflect the shipped items (example: if shipping an item the next city over or shipping the same exact item to a completely different state they charge the same amount.) the shipping cost definitely discourages buyers and the seller ends up losing out because they have to take an extremely low offer for their items on top of Mercari taking a large percentage as well!
