Benz Friends

It was late in life when I bought my first Benz, but for now and forever, we will always be friends. Particularly the folks and the Service department.

Please Mercedes read!

To start, the app should be free or a “perk” from the dealership. Less expensive cars have free apps that are better. Please fix these issues:
-the app will let you start the car but not pick the temperature
- the app will allow your car to be ON and LOCKED , but if you don’t have the app and try to leave your car on — you can’t lock it. No “dog” mode.
- I have purposely locked my keys in the car with the app when going to the gym, then went to unlock my car and it wouldn’t open. I had to call an uber! I happened to have a scheduled maintenance service that day and I mentioned it - crickets. (Ps I had full cell phone service!) prior to calling uber I tried to call customer service ( 715 AM EST, they were closed!)
- you need 25% fuel to start your car via the app— that’s silly. Change it to a minimum amount of miles - like 30- I don’t need to reserve fuel if I have 100+ miles.
- you can’t remote start your car and turn the windshield heat on- which is what you need in winter. Only way that goes on is if you remember to turn it on before you turn your car off.
- the widget for the iPhone has the horn button and you can’t delete the button off the widget. But you can accidentally hit it and the horn will go off- no facial rec or passcode. Just a slight tap makes it go off - you should allow the buttons to be deleted off based on user preference.

And this is all on the TOP of my head after the app asked me to review it. Please fix these issues!! (Look at Tesla app and see how user friendly !) thank you

Love

Love the features it has

Fully Free app

Why do we need to pay to fully function our vehicle? I already paid for my vehicle. The app should’ve come free. Look at the BMW guys.

Mercedes Removing Functions

Worked fine, got updated, lost the ability to remotely lock or unlock my car.

The new standard!

I’ve owned several Mercedes-Benz vehicles over the years, and each one has set a high bar. My new GLC 300, however, has elevated the experience in every way.

From the moment I took delivery, the attention to detail, craftsmanship, and technology have been exceptional. The ride is smooth, quiet, and refined, while the interior feels both luxurious and thoughtfully designed. Every drive reminds me why I continue to choose Mercedes-Benz.

What truly stands out is the confidence and trust the brand inspires. The combination of engineering excellence, innovative features, and outstanding customer service makes ownership feel effortless. Mercedes-Benz continues to evolve without losing the quality and prestige that made me a loyal customer in the first place.

The GLC 300 isn’t just another great SUV—it’s the new standard. I’m proud to be part of the Mercedes-Benz family once again, and this vehicle has exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended.

Mercedes Benz App - Good?

Overall, the MB app is pretty comparable to other vehicle apps. Basic functionality is decent, with one caveat, I’d love to see realtime system updates when a check/service engine lights come on. Anyone who owns a newer Mercedes [Sprinter] knows the service light comes on way more frequently than other vehicles. The app should provide codes and descriptions when the system detects an issue.

Nothing But The Best Or Nothing!!!

MB App

Frustrating that you can’t control the windows or the tailgate from the app

Still Awful Reliability

Since my previous 2018 C300, this overpriced app is still unreliable with starting my vehicle. The app tends to freeze or shut down within seconds of opening the app. Then when I click on it again it finally opens. If this is the so-called best or nothing then I’m considering going back to Audi or try a BMW X4 M or Porsche Macan.

Remote features are getting better

The features that let me lock the car, sound the horn, etc. are much better in the recent versions of the app. I really like the feature that tells me if my liftgate doesn’t close all the way. That one has been a lifesaver.

Disappointing

Subscription payment for every little feature is not the type of nickel and dime approach you expect from a “luxury” brand. Especially when competitors like Tesla include all the features that Mercedes charges extra for.

This basic services should be the part of cost and should not be subscription based.

Subscription.

Lock/unlock feature glitch

Twice I have been locked out and the app would not unlock my car. I was able to get tech support to reset it one time. The other time I turned my phone off and restarted it and it worked. I was panicking at 11:00 pm stranding in a fast food parking lot. I no longer depend on the app unlock feature.

Great App Even after Subscription Expired

Primary use are three things.
1. Car status: windows, locks, charging state
2. Remote unlock, start, and climate
3. Geolocation

After the subscription trial. 1 & 3 still work. Still get status and notifications for charging and unlocked doors. Losing the ability to remote lock, start, and climate control are a luxury but I appreciate how the app is still useful even after the trial.

Request: give me the car lock status on the main dash; gas and battery is already there. Don’t make me click around to find it.
