Rubbish
Use to be one of my favourite apps. Now think it’s awful. Never works, even if the bird is practically next to you.
Error Message
I keep getting a message saying “An error occurred. Please verify your internet connection and try again.” My internet has been working fine. I’ve reset my phone, updated everything, deleted and reloaded the app and nothing has worked to fix this issue.

App doesn’t work
In the past couple of weeks, I keep getting errors when trying to record.
This app revolutionized the world of birding
It’s about 4 years after I first tried this app, and I am now a hardcore birder. It’s an everyday essential for me. I know tons of people who aren’t birders and still love the app.
Lost my data
I used this app on recommendation for over a year & built up a life list. Then suddenly I was logged out and lost all of my data. Support have not replied to my troubleshooting request. Very disappointing
A Must for Birders
This app has helped me learn the different bird sounds and songs for the variety of birds I hear in my neighborhood and beyond. I can now hear many calls/songs and know which bird I’m looking for without even using the app. The identification options are simple and extremely accurate with even the worst of photo options provided. If you have even the slightest interest in what unique sound you heard coming from the tree across the street, this app is a no brainer.

Bring back autosave
I’ve been using Merlin for several years but why would you remove automatic saving of recordings - awful change.
Apparently this changed about six months ago, but there was no obvious warning in the app. Birding activity in my area hasn’t been particularly heavy during those months, so I wasn’t making as many recordings as usual and didn’t notice the change. I only discovered it today when I went back to check a bird I had recorded and the recording was gone. I then realized I’ve lost several special recordings from this spring and summer, including nighttime recordings I hadn’t had a chance to manually save.
Even worse, if my phone rings, the app glitches or closes unexpectedly, or anything interrupts it before I manually save, that recording is now gone. I may never get another chance to record that bird.
Please bring back autosave, even if you make it optional. People who don’t want recordings saved can delete them. I’d much rather delete recordings I don’t need than permanently lose ones I can never recreate.

App broken?

My favorite app!
I love this app so much. My favorite part of the day is sitting on my back porch in the morning and seeing what kind of birds I can listen to and identify. There’s a lot of birds that I don’t see, but I can hear and the accuracy is pretty amazing. I love it. I love it love it!
No support, stopped working
One day, they asked me to sign in again. I tried to get a password and never got it. Contacted support and their support is broken in line. I click submit ticket and nothing happens.

The Merlin APP is just awesome and birding is one of my favorite activities!
Something’s gone wrong
This app has worked great for me for two years but overthe past three months something has gone very wrong. It is missing the calls of many specied that it never had a problem discerning before. I hear a goldfinch but it hears nothing. I hear a yellowlegs but it hears nothing. Etc. I hope they fix it.

I like the app enough and it’s good for identifying some birds. But I would love to see what birds my friends are seeing. That and I would like to have the pictures I take saved on the app as well. Please update the app and add these features

Any attempt to save the bird to your life list will send you to the browser. I don’t understand.
