Why do messages that were deleted days ago reappear in iCloud?

honestly I’m so angry I might even go back to WhatsApp … it keeps on showing this thingy of like Jude imagines might been shown blah blah blah ME AND MY FRIEND WAS JUST PLAYING GOD DAM ROBLOX AND I DONT UNDERSTAND UR SYSTEM BUT IM NEVER COMING TO THIS APP IF YOU DONT FIX IT

Put it back the way it was, I want to know when my message is delivered, I have problems with my phone, change it back or you only get 1 star

I genuinely think this is the best message platform and you have a lot of room to customize everything. You should get it 😗
Needs improvement
It lacks basic features that would be very helpful:
1- Search function within a chat. I am aware that imessages have overall search function but it should be available within a chat as well (instead of general search…)
2- Pinning is terrible. When any chat is old (so that you have to scroll down to reach it), pinning that chat doesnt work… you should have pin option more easily available instead of only making it this weird dragging action
3- Please add “star” function within a chat. If there is a text I might want to revisit much later, I should be able to star it.
4- Links and photos do not work properly. It just misses a lot of them. Idk how…

Minor problem
It’s good. Solid. Problem is I can’t delete a group chat when it’s only me and 2 others. If you are planning to take down a group chat for everyone, you’re doomed. Just a little thing to work on. Otherwise great!
Disappearing messages idea
I would like to suggest expanding the disappearing messages feature in the Messages app by giving users more control over how it works. Instead of being limited to a single preset timer, users should be able to choose how long messages remain before they are automatically deleted from both their own device and the recipient's device. For example, users could choose from options such as 5 minutes, 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days, or even set a custom timeframe.
In addition, it would be extremely valuable to allow users to apply this functionality to older messages within an existing conversation. Users could choose to permanently delete selected past messages from both their own device and the recipient's device, rather than only applying disappearing messages to new messages going forward. This would give users greater control over their conversation history and provide a convenient way to remove messages they no longer wish to keep.
Adding these features would significantly improve privacy, flexibility, and user control within Messages. They would make the app better suited to a wide range of situations, from sharing temporary information to managing existing conversations more effectively. I believe these enhancements would be valuable quality-of-life improvements that many users would appreciate and would make Messages an even stronger privacy-focused communication platform.

i like how i can message with group chats but you should make a feature THATS OPTIONAL where you can have read receipts in group chats so like if someone reads it it says read and then by their initials
Addicting but amazing
First of all, pls follow and friend me on Roblox!! I play the game all the time and I’m trying to gain followers. My user is BellaGjak. Anyway, I love messages. Before I had messages, every summer I would be bored out of my mind- even tho I went on vacation a lot. Once I tried this app it was so fun to text my friends and talk abt funny stuff. I do think you should only use the app for thirty mins or one hour bc this app is addicting. You shouldn’t text a lot cuz once u do it… it feels like you can never stop- and you don’t wanna become brainrotted like meh lol. Overall I think this app is good. Peace out ✌️

I can text anyone anytime
I can tell my friends,parents,siblings,and more when I first got a new iPad I already had it without waving to download it and I am sure that you didn’t have to do it to because it is the original texting app and nothing can replace it but enough yapping I love this app I don’t care if I had issues with it I still love it.

Won’t deliver messages
I’m I just woke up and my parents are not here. My brother was at Sleepaway camp. My mom is somewhere. I don’t know where my dad is so I tried to text him but everything I text says not delivered and I’m so confused because isn’t it supposed to go through so you say your parents or someone that you’re texting see it I do not like this app.

Hard to add number
It’s really hard to ad draw number of someone else if you have another region than the other person for example I can text him but it doesn’t reach him so it is horrible and Apple should fix the problem ASAP

a pretty good app but i agree w some other reviews it definitely needs to be updated cuz i have multiple devices w the same icloud and they wont load most of the time like i will send a message to my friend on one device and it wont appear on another so if u could fix that then it would be great thank you!!!!
