Great App

I love this app because unlike other AI calorie apps, this one helps me track nutrients!

Love it so far

Just downloaded so I don't really know much yet but it seems to work pretty smoothly for my goal to gain and maintain weight

Potential

The app has a lot of potential, and it does a great job for the features that it has developed. But there’s some key ones that are still missing. After paying $50 for a subscription, I shouldn’t have to wait on some basic features. You are unable to log full meals/ recipes and save them to be reused. So if you meal prep a large portion, be prepared to retype in the macros and food every single time. Saving meals and recipes should be a basic feature!!

Free users can’t contribute to the database?

The fact it’s a paid feature is silly. Being able to add things to the database seems both productive and beneficial to the app and its user base. You should allow free users to modify and add to the database. Otherwise you’re asking people to pay to contribute to your apps data! If you’re not going to update it and contribute yourselves as developers, why bottleneck your own data that you’d receive from free users?

Response from developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! We agree that letting users contribute to the database is incredibly valuable, which is why free users can add and edit products in the community database. We’d be happy to help troubleshoot why you’re unable to add new products on your end. Could you please send us a screenshot of what you see when you try? Our email is team@microgramapp.com. Apologies for any inconvenience, and thanks again for flagging this!

please add light mode

Good app but need light mode eyes hurt

Um

I do like this app however I am getting a strange occurrence when I am going from logged review and edit portion… the app gets stuck in transition and continues circling until I have to delete the app and re- boot… there is no way around it and I cannot do anything else with my phone until I delete…. Sad when you pay money for something and glitch turns you off of it.

We're so sorry you experienced this - that definitely shouldn’t have happened. We believe this bug should now be fixed, but if you’re still running into it, could you please email us at team@microgramapp.com? Apologies again for the inconvenience, and thank you so much for flagging this!

Why is this so hard to use

This isn’t my first nutrient app, and it’s way harder than others I’ve used. It’s SLOW, so entering foods involves several long seconds of waiting for analysis EVERY TIME, even for items I’ve logged several times. It gets serving sizes wrong daily. I can’t find a simple way to add recipes I’ve made myself so I don’t have to log all the ingredients every time—it seems to prefer that I eat packaged foods only. It hears me say “Jif peanut butter” and then gives me nutritional data for a peanut butter and jelly spread instead. I could go on and on. I’m not happy. I do like how easy it is to see my daily progress towards nutrient goals, especially because I need a specific amount of potassium daily, but so far that’s all I like.

Thanks for taking the time to share this feedback. We hear you, and we’re sorry the experience has been frustrating. The app runs a full nutrient analysis each time a food is logged so we can calculate the complete macro and micronutrient breakdown, but we agree it should feel faster and we’re actively working on improving performance. We’re also currently building a feature to create and save recipes. In the meantime, we recommend logging a recipe once via text and then re-logging it from the Recent tab so you don’t have to enter everything again. For voice logging, we hear your frustration there too and want to improve it. Right now, voice works best with generic foods rather than specific brands, so saying “peanut butter” will usually work better than “Jif peanut butter,” since the voice database mainly contains generic items rather than branded products. If a serving size looks off, you can also adjust it before logging the meal. We’re really glad to hear the nutrient goal tracking, especially for potassium, has been helpful, and we truly appreciate the feedback as it helps us improve the app. Please reach out to team@microgramapp.com so we can make this right for you.

Great app, but

This is one of the best if not the best nutrient/calorie tracking app I have used. The features are amazing and I love how clean the design is. Also very easy to use.
The only two things I would critique are that I wish it showed how many calories you have left for the day in the total calories. I know you can do the math, but seeing it really puts things into perspective. Also, I do not like how this beta daily score is plastered at the top, front and center. Idc about this random number and I think it’s in the way.

Thanks so much for the kind words, we’re really glad you’re enjoying the app and finding it easy to use! Regarding calories left for the day - this is a great point. We’re actually planning to add a “calories left” indicator very soon so you can quickly see how many calories you have remaining for the day without having to do the math. Also, if you’d prefer not to see the Daily Score, you can hide it by going to Settings → Nutrient Targets → toggle off “Daily Score.” Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback, it really helps us improve the app!

My Favourite Calorie Tracking App!!

I’ve tried multiple different calorie tracking app and this one definitely tops all of them. It helps me be intentional with my food without constantly obsessing over the calories and instead focusing on its nutritional value and benefits for my body. The app is very user friendly and easy to use, I definitely recommend it :)

Just put the paywall up front.

Once you download the app you have to pay to use any of their features.

You have to pay

The description for the app says you can use the ‘free limited version’ that doesn’t include some features. The features being tracking your diet like what. That’s the whole point of this app. Just say it’s a paid service because I wasted my time making an account for this.

Great for pregnancy

I’ve been loving this app for getting all my micros during pregnancy. I knocked off one star because there’s a few bugs with adding in foods/supplements that are a little annoying. Not a deal breaker though! Hope they keep improving the app.

Response from developer

We appreciate you flagging the bugs with adding foods/supplements and are actively working on improvements. If you’re open to it, please email any specifics to team@microgramapp.com so we can look into them :)

Give me a minute already!

Why would you ask me for a rating when I haven’t even used it and have barely downloaded it two minutes ago. Very annoying. We’ll see what it looks like a couple of months from now shall we?

Wasted 15 minutes

I created an account, did all the onboarding and was poking around to get oriented and somehow the whole thing reset to the beginning and wanted to me do it again. Blah.

great

i love the sleek interface and the free micronutrient tracking

Response from developer

Thank you so much! We’re so happy to hear you’re enjoying the interface and micronutrient tracking - means a lot to us :)

No testing possible

So far I have not been able to use any of the advertised features, I wanted a calorie tracker and so far I was forced to provide personal data and get a nutrition plan useless because I write better nutrition plans at this app while at the same time I was not able to use any of the advertised features to track my calories yet but was already prompted to write a review

So here’s my honest review: allow me to actually test the features such as the tracking before asking me for review and then I’m happy to provide an honest review of the actual features
