Location Privacy concern
The app claims it can see, “names of Wi-Fi networks (SSIDs) near you and their associated MAC addresses.” If this is true, this app can be used to locate and track any user.

Works, but has Limits & Annoyances
Microsoft Defender “just works” apparently, but has few details of its findings. Having used this family of defense tools for years on Windows, I expect nothing less—and it seems to deliver!
But the incessant nagging to purchase identity insurance or sign up for Credit Monitoring (even though I already have that through other means) gets old rather quickly! Each new “update” of the app via the App Store causes the user to march through “suggestions” all over again—or put up with the indicator on the app (which may cause the user to miss actual alerts of successful protection from malicious code). Come on, Microsoft, give us an option to decline once & for all the repetitive push to sell identity insurance & protection services!
