What's New in Mindwtr

1.1.0

July 13, 2026

- Track time spent per task: linked Pomodoro focus sessions add their minutes to an editable, synced Time Spent field (opt-in). - Delete, complete, and archive now use Undo instead of confirmation prompts, and the calendar week follows your locale. - Capture faster with the %person token, files shared from other apps, a background "Add to Mindwtr Inbox" Shortcut, and lock screen widgets. - Checklists are now independent from notes, attachments are stored as real copies, resolved sync conflicts are listed clearly, and new safeguards prevent data loss.

So good once you learn the GTD system

I struggled with normal todo lists for years, and by chance found this app and the GTD system it’s based on.

I would love a lock screen widget that shows the current focused task. But this app is also open source so if someone isn’t already working on it I guess I’m going to learn Swift :)

Response from developer

Thank you — this review made my day, especially the offer to learn Swift! You won't need to: the lock screen widget you described is built and coming in the next release. It shows your current focused task (a rectangular widget, an inline line above the clock, or a circular counter) and taps through to the Focus screen. We track it here: github.com/dongdongbh/Mindwtr/issues/821 — if you have specific ideas about what it should show (due time, project, counts), please drop a comment on that issue. Requirements from people actually working the GTD system are exactly what shape Mindwtr.

Helps you stay focused.

By default this app only shows the task being worked on instead of everything at once! This is amazing for not getting distracted by massive todo lists.

Takes some diligence at first to sort and label tasks. (it includes some tools to help prioritize)

Also, this is local-only by default, with option to turn on iCloud and other syncs.

Simple without all the extra junk no one actually uses. And no garbage AI!

It’s a real GTD app!

I’m really encouraged by this REAL ‘Getting Things Done’ methodology app. It gets so many things right that other productivity apps attempt (but fall short).

Mindwtr is fully featured and does not sit behind a paywall. It’s well designed and offers a solid experience on launch.

I’ve already donated to the dev and expect great things for this tool in the future.
