Doesn’t wake iPhone

This app pretty disappointing on the iPhone. It doesn’t wake the phone when it is in sleep mode. Constantly have to have the unlocked and app open to work. This needs to updated and resolved.

Doesn’t work when iPhone is locked or not the active app

If the MLC app isn’t the active app it doesn’t ring. Not very useful this way

Needs Additional Features

This app is brain dead and the publisher has no plans to improve it. Do what I did; switch to hosted SIP PBX and eliminate equipment ownership, maintenance, licenses and software updates. Compatible and inexpensive Android based desk phones and many iOS SIP apps are available. I now have all the functions of my own PBX, with none of the grief, like proprietary soft phones that are years out of date.

Thanks for your comment. The requirement from the larger market was to make the phone operate in the same mode as the physical device. No adaptation to implement any new functions or ways of operation.

Doesn’t work well at all

When dialing an extensionAs soon as someone picks up the phone cuts out you can no longer here anybody. This app has been more trouble than it’s been worth

Response from developer

There could be multiple issues that are causing this problem from a network to incorrect programming on the voice server. Please contact your local NEC technician for further assistance.

Mlc amazing

This app has saved many of our clients businesses due to COVID It makes all the other apps out there look like garbage! NEC has a proven winner with the MLC

Stopped working altogether

This used to be an amazing app. It worked consistently for me and connected me with my office phone from anywhere. I have no idea what happened, but all of a sudden, it stopped working and only says “Full Port.” I contacted the company who installed our phone system, who got back to me weeks later and basically said the app won’t work with iPhone 12, but they were working on a fix. That was 4 months ago and it’s still not working. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled so many times I’ve lost count. Such a shame.

The error you receiving' Full Port" means that you are no longer licensed for the application. There are too many users that are enabled and application is not able to acquire a licenses. Confirm the availability of the licensing on the NEC Voice server and CMP. If you believe there are enough licenses, speak with your local NEC Technician for further guidance.

End of life if you have it on an iPhone

Was informed there will be issues in March if you have an iPhone and will have to use another app and pay
This app is not establishing a good connection back to phone server

Response from developer

The concern you are noting has nothing to do with the application or its operation going forward.. The device for which the application operates has a new requirement that is requiring adjustments to be made on the application. Equipping the current application with the new requirement will require a update to the provisioning function that users are not accustomed. In order to prevent the operation of the existing application from working, we have chosen to enable a new application that will support the requirement that is now being imposed without causing issue with existing users.

Blah

I have been an NEC technician for 30 years. I personally believe NEC phone systems are the best on the market hands-down. However their mobile app is terrible. The interface is nice setting it up is easy but there are way too many issues. If for some reason it goes off-line for a long period of time it does not come back online it will just say port full and I have to close application and reopen. I’ve seen many voip apps that work 10 times better. NEC you have a great product line just fix the mobile app please

Response from developer

The problem you are experiencing is that you have too many users using the application without enough licenses. The error noted on the application screen when launching the application 'Full Port" is indicating this issue. I would suggest that you confirm the number of users that are utilizing the application and make sure you have enough licenses for activation of the client.

Poor phone app

Whether you connect the app to WiFi or cell network phone conversations between callers are choppy or underwater sounding. The same goes for retrieving the voicemails. It’s embarrassing having conversations with customers with how poor connection is. It also likes to go “offline” without you realizing it frequently. There is no option for mute or hold so there are times you have the awkward times of listening to each other breath if you have to do data entry. There is a hold button on the app, but all it does is disconnect them. I also had a decent amount of times the phone rings once or even a half a ring and then says missed call. This app will also drain phone battery real quick.

Response from developer

All the problems that have been noted are do to incorrect programming of the client and voice server (possible packet size) for the operation of this application. It would seem there is also the possibility that there is an issue with the amount of bandwidth that is allocated on the device for the application. Remember this is a real-time application so bandwidth is required.

Support?

Is there some way to get some support for this app?

Response from developer

Yes. This application is support by NEC Partners . Please contact your local NEC Partner for additional support.

You broke the app.

Calls no longer ring through unless app is up and active. Background service no longer works.

Response from developer

This sound like a configuration issue on the MLC application. confirm the setting in the menu for the application to operate in the background. If this setting is disabled, the application will respond as you have noted.

2.0.36.0 issue

Have to disable Battery Optimization to get MLC to come out of minimized or lock when getting call.

Response from developer

That is correct. Battery Optimization means you are trying to conserve the battery. This operation means that all real-time application that are pushed to the background will be placed on pause in order to conserve the battery.

Update on 4/29 blew it

This app has been working well until the update if 4/29. Now the app chokes out halfway through calls at times. Other team members have reported a similar experience after updating.

Response from developer

Not sure how to correct the problem. You will need to call your local NEC Partner for technical support to confirm the situation and next steps.

Needs improvements

Very frustrating. App stops working every day. I open the app sometimes it’s online, sometimes it’s offline and other times it says double assignment. Plus it doesn’t work at all when we have it set to manual mode and auto mode is not secure so I ended up deleting the app for everyone on our network. Looking for new vendor

Response from developer

Sorry to hear your frustration with the application. As to the error that was posted on the application ' Double Assignment', this is a sign that the application with the same credentials is already running or has been registered in the system. If you choose to share a station number and credentials with other users, you will need to enable the 'Hot Desking' functionality.

Terrible App

It’s hard to know for whom the app developers were making this app. The user interface is set up the same as an old phone instead of an app. Nothing is intuitive, and core functions of the app have stopped working for part of every day I’ve tried to use it. Truly terrible.

Response from developer

The application was designed with the same user interface and menu structure as the NEC wired phones. This was done in order to allow users that have wired phones to quickly implement mobility. As to core functions not working it would need further review by your local NEC Partner to diagnose the problem and resolution.

Good enough, I guess.

The app does the things you need it to do but it’s not user friendly. A couple of especially irritating things I’ve noticed:

1) If you’re on a call that ends (the other person hangs up, conference line is closed, etc) you’ll get an open line tone on your phone until you open the app up again and “put the phone back on the hook”. There needs to be a quick way to hang up.

2) If you close the app because you don’t want the line to forward to you cell (for example if you’re off work and you don’t want work call to keep coming through) you’ll get a “Log in again” notification every few minutes as long as you’re connected to WiFi.

All of these challenges noted are resolved with later builds. Please install the latest version of the application and or move to the BizMLC Mobile applicaiton.
