Hi, thanks for the feedback! The paywall is dismissible, and you can try the app without paying: all onboarding calls are free, plus a few more afterwards to test the waters. We don’t offer trials anymore because we've made calls unlimited for subscribed users. There’s already light ranking and social sharing in the app, but for now we’re keeping the core experience private and low-pressure, and we’ll reconsider the social side as the user base grows. Oof, sorry about that! Onboarding calls are free, and a dropped call shouldn’t burn any of your “try it” calls either. If you email ios.layered@drobinin.com with roughly when it happened (and your iOS version), I’ll top you back up and help figure out why it disconnected - it’s usually a network/VPN/permission edge case.

Thanks for the report. Onboarding calls are free, and you also get a few extra calls afterwards to try the app - a "call not connected" error shouldn’t consume any of them. We’ve shipped a few updates since this review that improve call setup and failure handling. If you’re up for giving it another go, please email ios.layered@drobinin.com with roughly when it happened (and your iOS version) and I’ll top your calls back up and take a look at what went wrong.
