Paywall

Something like this should be free. Not 6 dollars a week. Throw in ads if necessary

Response from developer

Thanks for trying murmur. I hear you on the price, but we won't run ads. Ads mean tracking you and selling your data, and we're not willing to do that. Your voice is streamed live and never recorded, and we don't sell anything to anyone. If weekly feels steep, the annual plan works out to about $1.50 a week - a 75% discount.

Great App, but not worth it.

This App is amazing for practicing calls, and is a great idea. One thing I wish this App would do is have more free calls. Immediately after my first call, I couldn’t make anymore calls without a subscription. Hopefully I can continue using this app, but right now I feel there should be more free calls, thanks.

Good idea, but I’m not paying for it

The concept seems good, but I’m not interested in paying for a subscription just to use it. It would be a lot better with a free version, a trial, or at least more ways to use the app without paying right away. It would also be nice to have actual ranks and social features like following other users. Right now, the paywall is too immediate for me to want to keep using it.

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for the feedback! The paywall is dismissible, and you can try the app without paying: all onboarding calls are free, plus a few more afterwards to test the waters. We don’t offer trials anymore because we've made calls unlimited for subscribed users. There’s already light ranking and social sharing in the app, but for now we’re keeping the core experience private and low-pressure, and we’ll reconsider the social side as the user base grows. Thank you for giving murmur a try!

My call disconnected the second I started

I didn’t get to make my “free call” then it immediately tried to charge me money. This was a terrible experience. I know you will comment back and say something like api cost money. I get it. But this model is just crummy and you need t change it.

Response from developer

Oof, sorry about that! Onboarding calls are free, and a dropped call shouldn’t burn any of your “try it” calls either. If you email ios.layered@drobinin.com with roughly when it happened (and your iOS version), I’ll top you back up and help figure out why it disconnected - it’s usually a network/VPN/permission edge case.

Doesnt work

I really liked the concept but it genuinely doesn’t even work, keeps saying call not connected snd then says I’ve used my free call even though it didn’t work.

Response from developer

Thanks for the report. Onboarding calls are free, and you also get a few extra calls afterwards to try the app - a "call not connected" error shouldn’t consume any of them. We’ve shipped a few updates since this review that improve call setup and failure handling. If you’re up for giving it another go, please email ios.layered@drobinin.com with roughly when it happened (and your iOS version) and I’ll top your calls back up and take a look at what went wrong.
