Doesn’t work at all with Google Assistant
Google assistant setup not there at all, and can’t link with google through home neither

Online instructions differ from the paper instructions. Tried 3 times to connect phone to fire without success. Guidance is too complicated, so decided it was too much hassle to try for the fourth time. It should be easier than this, but it isn’t. Therefore 1 star only.
You might need a wifi extender!
I had a lot of problems when trying to set up my new Onyx Avanti fire. I discovered that the fire/app will only work on 2.4gHz. Although my BT router has both 2.4gHz and 5gHz channels they just show up under one name. I solved the problem by using an old wifi extender which I had in the drawer. I connected it to the router and used its 2.4gHz wifi channel and bingo! it worked. The app is better than using the remote control so persevere, it will be worth it.

Good could be better
App works on 2.4 but not 5ghz , which is really disappointing. My Virgin box optimises route at 5 ghz so app will not connect functionality is intuitive and just sad it is limited connectivity.
