Pricing is too high… but not a lot of choices

Praising for the service is too high. I am sure it could be worse but the fact that the power “blinks” off and on when heavy snow comes down is a bit annoying. Then there is customer service that is rather abysmal, it’s hard to get a live person to report anything. I mean it’s not bad bad, but it all could be better, especially with the prices paid out.

just terrible

none of the payment plans were working when i was trying to pay my bill. bank account? told me my information was wrong. credit/debit? the stupid kubra payment link never loaded. auto pay? same as bank account. so i decide to talk to the AUTOMATED ROBOT to pay but guess what? after spending 5 minutes putting all the numbers in the ROBOT told me that they were closed????
didnt realize that robots only worked 9-5 and why wouldent it just tell me that before wasting my time? ive never left a review on anything but felt i need to let others know how garbage this app is. seitch providers if you can, if you cant im so sorry

C+ap

You’ve managed to take a mediocre B- app and make it a Crapp. it’s gone from bad to worse. What’s this new lineup of accounts? It’s horrible. There was a sample one that looked pretty good what happened to that? It takes forever to get anywhere on this. And the new version is even longer and more difficult. Can’t you simplify it? I have a 10 year old nephew that creates better apps than this. I would think a multibillion dollar company could throw a little money toward this. I really appreciate being able to use the app but it’s getting to be not worth the effort.

Frustrating

I have never been more annoyed at an app and website than Xcel Energy. It’s not user friendly. Here’s a story. You have to get the app to initiate auto pay. I help my parents deal with their utilities online. Just recently, Xcel Energy removed the auto payment because my parents changed up their bank account without letting me know. Unfortunately, Xcel Energy didn’t even notify me there was an issue either. Not a big deal but as I went to start up the auto payment again, the app doesn’t have the program link available anymore and it wants to take me to Kupra. That will incur a fee every time I pay through that site. On the app, it basically says bank accounts cant be used to pay for the Xcel account. Just today I googled “kupra xcel energy” to find out what the deal was and as I scrolled down, I saw “ways to pay” and there’s an auto pay option on the page. WOW, it takes me to the app where I can start it again. So we CAN use auto pay still with bank accounts. Why was it not even offered right on the app??? Im pretty sure I clicked everywhereeee on the app/website before to look for the auto pay option and now I finally seeing it after googling a few weeks later? That’s stupid.

App has not worked for months

I’ve been using this app since it was born and it has been fine for years. In the recent 4+ months it gives me multiple reasons and continuously states that I have a slow Internet connection which is not true whatsoever. So I’ve had to pay by phone, which is fine. However, this date, I thought I’d give the app a chance once again, to basically have it fail so I called it to pay my bill and now that is failing as well due to “technical difficulties“. At least I got a message when I called this time stating unless it was an emergency to call back instead of initially listening to dead air numerous times earlier this a.m.
What is wrong with the app??!! I’ve called regarding this and have never gotten a direct answer for the trouble. Thank you.

Terrible inconvenient app

I wish I could give this app a better review. However, it is slow, crashes, and there is no flexibility for scheduling future payments.

For example, one month I was on vacation and missed my payment when I got back I wanted to schedule the payment in three days time on my payday. However, the app doesn’t allow this which then in turn, makes you have to go back and open the app on payday to pay the bill. It’s very inconvenient should be a lot easier. I don’t have any other bill that has an app that operates in this way.

Frustrating and annoying

Every month when it’s time to pay my bill, there is an error message on the app & website stating that “MyAccount is unavailable at this time and is undergoing maintenance”. This has happened repeatedly and makes paying my bill much more complicated than it should.

Today the app surprisingly allowed me to login to my account, and after several unsuccessful attempts to enroll into autopay I’ve been asked to share what I think of the app. Here’s what I think: app interface - great, actual service provided by the app - absolutely terrible

Quite literally the worst app I’ve ever used from a service provider

This application is seemingly always down for maintenance. At 11:15AM on a Friday, your app is down for maintenance? If it’s not one thing it’s another with this app: inconvenient maintenance periods, no notifications regarding bills or said maintenance, anyone else remember when Xcel’s app was offline for a whole YEAR?! The load times take AGES. I can see my account information behind the spinning wheel, just let me do my business! Please, for the love of all that is good and holy, develop a worthwhile app—even if it means charging us a little more.

App is very unwieldy

I continuously have problems logging into the site, to pay my account balance. Something this simple should be easy, but here we are, in the 21st century in the most technologically advanced nation on the planet, and this obtuse website remains rooted in inadequacy. The ongoing changes and updates have not been very progressive, or effective. I have been a customer for over a decade, and it’s frustrating and an example of poor customer service. Each month, it’s a new challenge, like some brutal video game that can’t be won, or even accessed.

Updated electrical system

The new meter is going to eliminate the driver that comes by monthly. I have always thought that I was overcharged because the driver never got out of his truck. I could not read my meter standing where he was in his truck. I even used a spotting scope and could not read the meter. Hopefully this meter will be better. Can’t afford very high prices since I’m on social security.

Sharing a Review

I do appreciate this app. I wish I had it all my adult life! It’s never been so easy to pay my bill, therefore, I don’t procrastinate doing so 😁. Remembering the hustle bustle of family life w a husband, 3 children, 3 dogs, a cat, full time job, me in college before I became a teacher, (was in banking prior), and how difficult it was Just to get to the bills! It’s so much easier now. Thank you! I only wish… I could afford it! Now that I’m on my own! Kiddos grown! And I’d love to know about the Savings plans, however, I don’t.
Perhaps getting Solar panels is best now? But as for the app, it’s very user friendly.

Problems with app loading

I have not been able to log into my account through the app in over a month! Supposedly they updated the app a week ago it says but it is still doing the same dumb thing it’s telling me that I’m on a slow network and the app can’t load right now I can’t even log on through a browser without it sending me to this stupid app! There is a reason why this app has terrible reviews because it does not even work how am I supposed to see how much I have to pay if I have gone paperless? A big thumbs down!

Love this App

I’m 44, so I remember the days of hoofing it to a king soopers, etc, to make an excel payment, or a money order to put in the mail (I had some rough times finance when I was young, so no bank account). In any case, this app and their text reminders have made it so much easier to keep up with my Bill.

You really shouldn’t ask people to rate

I’m not sure why you would ask users to rate an app that you put minimal effort into. You obviously don’t care about your users at all. And why would you? It’s not like most of us have a choice in using your services. Since there’s zero need for retention, you put zero effort into this app. You’d think an app for paying bills, at the very least, would have notifications to let users know your bill is due. You can’t even manage that? Automatic bill pay doesn’t even work reliably. Solar energy is going to replace you and I can not wait. Good luck retaining business after decades of not caring.

New and improved???

You took a perfectly fine and accessible app and ruined it. You have made it inaccessible because of not using a passcode on my phone for personal reasons. It is now more expensive, more difficult and all around a complete pain to do anything with your company. Unfortunately due to the monopoly you have on the energy service in my area I either pay you more money for changes you made making it more difficult for me to pay my bill or I say screw it by selling everything moving away to a different part of the state or country with more friendly service providers. Not that you obviously care judging by the poor ratings of the app and refusal to make it more accessible for everyone. You are the only company I have ever dealt with ever requiring the use of a stupid passcode and refusal to offer other free alternatives to pay besides this crappy app.

This app gets worse and worse

You would think a multibillion dollar company could get his act together and have an app that works. It’s actually more difficult to pay online than it is to just write checks and drop them in the mail. You cannot see your statement online if they mail it. It’s disgusting. You have to sign up for paperless and then it’s impossible to find. you have to go through so many screens to get anything done. it was shut down for a month to improve it but they made it worse. Why don’t you ask some customers what works.

AC REWARDS FAIL

So if you were ahead of the game and proactively purchased an eco thermostat like Nest model T3008US, then forget about qualifying for and eco discount programs unless you purchase an overpriced eco thermostat from the Xcel online store. Grrrr
I’m a disabled veteran on a fixed budget, I believe it’s unfair to be penalized for being proactive. Perhaps Xcel might be a little selfish if we didn’t by their overpriced items. Other electric companies are offering $100 in savings credit for connecting an eco thermostat that does not have to be purchased from them, my Nest model included. The model I have is full featured including fully capable of online programming and control by third parties like Xcel.

Extremely Frustrated

Was directed by customer service to download the app and told my issues with transfer service and payment were my fault because I was “behind the times” not having the app. Then I download the app only find it’s the exact same as logging in online and not a single on of the many problems I’ve had were solved. Poor account management options, no account history available and the customer service was condescending and unhelpful.

Keep pushing paperless billing

My hands shake and I keep selecting paperless billing because every time I open the app, the question is asked. If I don’t have paper bills, I don’t remember to pay. And I don’t allow anyone to access my bank account for any type of withdrawal.

Ruined a great app

Update. 2/23- still horrible app- no access to billing info, pricing, etc. just a bill due amount.

So many things that changed for the worse. No option to pay via bank account and avoid the credit card fee. Plus credit card payment is capped $1,000. App is buggy and they have up user friendly for flashy. Not impressed, you took a great app and ruined it, for what?!
