Complete Waste of Taxpayers Money
I’ve honestly tried at least 50 times today to set up my ID. This hopeless app is absolutely frustrating. I keep getting stuck and having to repeat the same steps over and over again.
The Government really needs to invest in better-designed, user-friendly apps. It feels like a complete waste of taxpayers’ money when the system is this difficult to use.

before u get this app, read this!!
if you are thinking of getting this app to identify yourself or to apply for a tax file number, and you dont have a citizenship certificate, valid passport, drivers license or an “immicard”, just dont bother and ask the post office to help you!! this was a complete waste of my time. i was born here, i dont yet have my drivers license, got no idea what an immicard is, and dont have a valid passport. would have been much easier if i had just went to the post office! i hope i saved at lease someone from wasting their time lol

This app is terrible. It’s never worked, I can’t access any messages or information. Serves to isolate and maroon elderly folk more than ever before.

This app is hopeless half way through entering everything it then says needs an update so when you try update it then just take you back to the old version and you go around in circles. An hour of wasted time!!!!!
Doesn’t make sense
Nothing about this id app makes sense. It’s so confusing to navigate, heavens forbid you forget your password or change your phone number and now have to make a whole new account. Logging into services on the computer can’t be done without going through loops on the phone app. If I’m trusting all of my sensitive information to be in one place I want to trust it’s being built with care

Can’t do ATO return
MyID is require to log onto ATO and get this useless app can’t even recognise my passport and without passport I can’t achieve the strength level require to log onto ATO. I am okay to not do my tax as long as ATO charges the developer of this app not me for the interest and fine!!!

Just make it easy and simple to get their tfn validity this that. Mate just make it easy and simple rather than all this unnecessary stuff that doesn’t make any sense. The developers of this app should be ashamed of themselves and should consider never making an app again. Wish I could give negative stars.

More useless Aussie government nonsense

Very frustrating to use while trying to get fuel rebate.
Like another user, it keeps telling me to get a stronger security rating, but then won’t allow me to do it. I keep going round and around in circles. Bit like so many other government offices and programs. No real working advice on how to fix the problem, other than deleting the program and starting again to see if that works and running the risk of not being able to reload it again. I guess it’s just too smart for me.

Absolutely useless. Keeps glitching when I need it. Most. It asks me to update before I even use the silly thing. And then it locks me out. Surely someone in the Australian government can fix this.
