they just want you to buy newer products
i have these lights for 6 years and every update draws them down to where it impossible to connect and now with the latest update i can find a custom light to settle the mood that i want. Honestly i give up trying to work the app. Im very tech savy and it impossible to reset and connect it. I would never buy a product from them ever again

We love our Nanoleaf system!
We installed all the lights ourselves over a year ago and enjoy changing the color patterns each month. The Nanoleaf community has created thousands of color combinations oand we have the option of creating our own. Everything about Nanoleaf has been super and user friendly!!
Infuriating app and connection
I wanted to love my Nanoleaf setup, but I cannot recommend it to anyone. The hardware looks beautiful on the wall, but the user experience is ruined by the app.
Pairing the devices is a massive chore, and even after you get them set up, they constantly show up as "unreachable" or disconnected. I find myself factory-resetting my panels and repairing them constantly just to change a color.
The app interface itself is clunky, slow, and unintuitive. It feels like the software team completely gave up. If you want smart lighting that actually stays connected to your Wi-Fi and responds when you tap your screen, look elsewhere.

Just Keeps Getting Worse
I have several A12 bulbs. Each update just gets dramatically worse and less reliable. Neither this app nor Apple Home even recognize a couple of my bulbs anymore. Even worse, now when Adaptive Mode turns on, my bulbs have a horrific green tint to them. I am always having to manually adjust the color. Gone are the days of no-fuss automatic lighting or just being able to turn on a switch. Every time I turn on the lights I have to spend 5 minutes fiddling with an app. What a nightmare when you’re just trying to turn the lights on to see what you’re doing for something urgent. The fact that the apps have stopped communicating with some of my bulbs is simply unacceptable. It’s not convenient to have to bring the ladder in the house to delete and re-pair bulbs all the time. You pay a premium for a Nanoleaf product, which is supposed to be a great brand in this space, only to receive a sub-par user experience.

The app will not work, spent 89$ on this thing and the app will not allow me to “name my home” very poor quality and not user friendly.
New App is terrible
Please listen to the feedback from everyone and revert the changes. The UI sucks. Added nonsense and removed features that were useful. I miss the list of my scenes, the easy access to palettes, the fast way to adjust current scenes. Everything was MUCH more functional before.
What happened?
This app was GREAT! Why all the change in UI? I can’t even figure out how to download scenes… as where the previous UI was super simple. Do the lamps not support custom scenes? Seems like a missed opportunity. Disappointed.
Remote hacking of my systems!
Unbelievable. They are still doing forced remote updates of their cràppy firmware without my permission!
Great news Fixes non-loop scenes and flow. My scenes are working again in V3.5! The new UI in the editor makes sense and is now easy to understand for the first time ever. Still a few bugs with scene sync and invalid parameters, but much improved.

V3.1.5 is the same, but they’ve also broken Flow! There’s no longer a speed or loop control! Unbelievable tack of regression testing!
Aurora firmware V3.1.2 has broken my scenes that gradually fade or brighten my lights. No longer able to doze off to gently fading bedroom lights. My wake-up fade-up morning scene never finishes as it just restarts.
Seems to be no way to manually downgrade the firmware to 3.0.8. Sad.
In addition this app is faulty and no longer allows speed adjustments for Flow scenes!

4 Years of Misery!
This is one of the worst smart home centered app I have ever used, paired with the absolute worst tech product I have ever owned (Nanoleaf Light Panels). The app is incapable of being consistent, and the product is incapable of doing what it was described. The app is unable to find devices, loses connection with the devices, and seems more focused on selling other horrible products, more than it is focused on making the product you purchased easy to use. I’m confused as to why or how this was an approved application. I encourage anyone reading this to stay away from anything Nanoleaf branded.

Always breaks and app is not useful at all
Great things to buy for like a week they broke for me over 4 times in one year had them sitting there for over a year not working untill I fully reset them pulled them off ect the app is usless when trying to help you figure out the problem it’s so much of a hassle the constant breaking or not working at this point make it cheaper for the quality of it

Terrible app - nothing they tell you to do matches to the device. 4d is not recognised in the app - useless
Awful UX
This app is so baffling. It feels like it was designed to make the process as tedious and confusing as possible.
Poor Connection
App is not connecting to the device that well. It will error out when restarting the app. Also looses connection when trying to change colors. When on a color setting it will change to soft white. On a low brightness setting but on the app shows its full brightness. Not synced at all. Please fix!
Completely unresponsive after last update
No amount of unplugging my Nanoleaf shapes will work. The controller is unresponsive. I cannot reset. I cannot hard. Reset these lights are useless after the last update.

Quite useful missing a few options.
Have two floor lamp now. I had to move one lost the connection. Had delete and setup again. Should be able to restore a connection. Does this mean if lose power have to redo? I have one on a 800W UPS. Bummer the other near my 1600W AV UPS. However it only an hour though just play at 0.5% max volume. Is my miniLED 8K TV power hog. Also Wish I could save an AI generated color. Am watching Lollapalooza 2026 so used word Lollapalooza is cool color pattern
