About
Napharu Studio is a free video editor that never asks you to sign in unless you want to post to The Napharu Collective and even then you're still not really signed into the video editor.
The app never uploads your footage anywhere, never uses your videos to train anyone's AI, never shows you an ad for anyone other than ourselves. Everything happens on your phone. It works on a plane, in a dead zone, or with Wi-Fi switched off. Edit whatever video you want, we aren't watching and we don't care to.
Most free editors are free because you are the product. Your clips go up to someone else's servers, your face and voice become training data, and the free tier nags you until you pay. Studio does none of that. There is no account to make, no watermark, no ads and no subscription. Even the app is free.
What? Why though? What's the catch? There's always a catch.
Whoa whoa whoa hold on there partner, I'm still telling you about the features.
What you can do:
• Cut, trim, split, reorder and change the speed of clips on a real timeline
• Layer video, photos, text, music and other audio
• Automatic captions in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French, made on your phone, in dozens of fonts and styles (yes the voice to text model is local).
• Remove the background behind a person and keep them tracked through the shot (great for making yourself disappear!)
• Adjust color for one clip or the whole video, and match one clip's look to another.
• Reframe for vertical, square or wide, and stabilize shaky footage
• Record straight into the editor, or pick clips and photos from your library
• Green screen without the green screen: film yourself in front of any photo or video, and switch pictures mid-take for a news report or a slideshow
• Drafts save themselves as you work, so nothing is lost if you leave or the app closes. But! Because it's all offline there's no cloud saves so be careful.
When you're done, the video lands in your photo library at full quality, ready to share anywhere... Including The Napharu Collective
Now that you know all this I can tell you what the catch is. It's no secret now that Napharu Studio is made by the person behind The Napharu Collective (Napharu for short) because I literally just mentioned it above. It's the world's first creator-owned social network. The world's only alternative to... let's call it "oligarch-run" social media, where you're the product. The only alternative where creators get a vote and a share of any profits should we ever go platinum. The only platform you join where you own it too and so you've got stake in the game. The only platform where your data can't be sold. So you better get your musician friends on board because it's the only platform where, unlike other places you discover music, musicians get their own rights to their own music and can even sell rights to use. Yes that's right we're competing with everybody we can! By "we" I mean you and me!
We built this editor for Napharu, and we'd rather give it away than rent out your data or make you pay for it. When a video is finished, Napharu Studio invites you to post it to Napharu. That part is optional, and the editor works exactly the same whether or not you ever do. That, my friend, is the only catch. But we're hoping that if you're editing a video about how fed up you are with the other platforms, you're reminded right there on export of who and what we are and where to find us, and that you should tell your viewers where to find you.

What's New in Napharu Studio
1.1.3
October 14, 2026
In the editor, when you add more clips or an overlay, videos already in your edit are marked "Added" so you can see what you've brought in, and you can add several clips at once. Fixed: the + button for adding another clip had slipped out of line with your clips and was hard to see. It now sits right on the clip row, in Napharu blue.
