Netgear should be embarrassed about how bad this application is

This app is an embarrassment to network engineering. It does not work at all. It can’t even find devices made by Netgear. If it finds the devices, it will list them, however it can’t communicate with them.

Terrible

I’ve had the app for quite a few years and been through quite a few changes and it’s never been great but now I can’t even update firmware - down to poor design and inadequate testing. I regret investing in netgear products.

Downgrade

Stay away from Netgear managed services. The last so called update has completely broken the managed services. No MESH management and the Health section is unusable. They still charge for this poor service which has clearly been deployed without any testing. I have canceled my subscription and switching to UniFi.

No client with this update

With this update, clients cannot be seen on the network

New update to version 10 has broken this app

I’ve been using this app for about 5 years to monitor my insight devices. It’s always been lacking certain functionality only available in the browser version, but since the complete overhaul (look and feel change) to version ‘10’ many features just aren’t working, and nothing seems to have improved or been added. Not sure what this update was supposed to achieve, but Netgear should be ashamed to release an application in this state. If you want a beta tester just let me know, you certainly need one.

V10 no clients

Since I got the v10.0.0 update I can no longer see any clients in the app. This essentially makes the app useless since I cannot confirm what clients are connected to which network/vlan.
I hope this issue is fixed asap, I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app but no luck.

10.0.0 update not showing MESH network

MESH is there and shows up on web page portal but DOES NOT show up on iPhone app 10.0.0 update. It did show up in app before update.

Amazingly Bad

This application is amazingly bad, like waiting at the DMV bad. Trying to configure a couple of simple access points, is like pulling teeth with gov level bureaucracy.

Error every start need to log out

Recently every time you use the all it gives “an error has occurred” and you can only log out, log back in but shortly later you need to repeat the process. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling no luck. Current version (7.7) is broken.

App login error

I’ve been using this app for years and it has worked very well. For the past couple of months, it keeps logging me out and I’m unable to log back in automatically unless I type in the password. It is annoying to keep having to type the password. Please fix this.

Confused? Join the club

I have experience with networking hardware and software have been using the Orbi for a while. I find it one of the least intuitive platforms I have ever used

App login is broken

App logs out even with FaceID credentials. Lost the push notification capabilities because of this. App functionality very limited to what you can do to manage devices. Is anybody home maintaining this?

Error from the start

The beginning of this app is also the end of the story. The app constantly logs you out and when you try and log back in, gives you an error even if you’re using saved Face ID. Remote firmware upgrades are extremely prone to failure and leave the access points unable to reboot without being physically present to do a hard reboot of your entire Wi-Fi network. Beware “new and improved“ upgrades as they can trash your hardware. I’ve had to get RMA’s on hardware items under the warranty because of failure. Next generation I’ll look to see about replacing all of my netgear access points, router, POEs, and switches to something more reliable.

Difficult

Lots of blind alleys, not easy to navigate.

Netgear broke this app to garbage

This app use be awesome and super helpful and useful. It’s now just useless garbage junk. 18 months ago Netgear did some updates and this app no longer communicated with Netgear smart switches. No matter what device I install this app on, this app can’t even find its own Netgear smart switches. How could this app be this bad for this long? Does Netgear have a software team? I’m done with Netgear

Not quite sure what the app is talking about where I need to have a Subscription? Don’t see it listed anywhere to purchase through Apple. Wasn’t something like this an issue with Fortnight?

Doesn’t let me signup

I tried making an account on the app and it keeps saying that my password is weak. I put a 20 long password with cap letters and numbers and every symbol that’s allowed and still says it’s weak

How do you get your app to take a password?

I’m just stressed out by this one. I have been doing this for a long time and have never not been able to register 🤷

Infuriating

What have you guys done??? Where is the web page on startup? Needing an app is garbage. This is beyond frustrating.
