Worst App I’ve Ever Used
Unfortunately I have to use this app for my current job. This app will crash if you try to do anything. Logging in? Crash. FaceID? Crash. Trying to change your investments? Crash. It’s a shame they don’t seem to care at all about their app and trying to make it user friendly at all. Fast food restaurants have more reliable apps than this

Use ReadySave app instead
Ascensus has another app called ReadySave that accepts your same Newport credentials. It’s much more polished and, from what I can tell so far, actually works. I don’t have to delete the app and reinstall it prior to every login attempt, so it’s already 100x better than this dreadfully bad app.
Garbage App
This is by far the worst fund management app I’ve ever used. Ridiculously outdated. Simple comparison to fidelity, schwab, or vanguard will show you market analysis, reports, stock prices in real time, etc… This app barely and I mean barely meets the bare minimum requirement of showing me my 401k balance. I hate that my company chose this group to manage our 401k plans.

Constantly crashes
App is terribly bad but it’s the platform my company chose to manage our retirement. But good luck checking your balances or trying to make a transaction. The app crashes 99% of the time before log in so the exorbitant management fees they charge your retirement account doesn’t make its way to their IT Dept budget which shows they can care less about the customer experience. I guess their fiduciary duty doesn’t include access to your money & account info since it’s been this way for months now.

Feels abandoned…
App crashes every single time I open it on iPhone 15 Pro (iOS latest). Tried force quit, reinstall, offload—nothing sticks. Feels abandoned. Ascensus, please fix or just pull it. 1 star until then.

App crashes & can’t log in
Please resolve this issue. Every time I try logging in, the app crashes. I have to uninstall/reinstall. Thereafter, I’m only able to initially sign on. Immediately after logging out & trying to log back in, the app crashes. For this specific issue, this app gets a 1 star.
Fails and closes immediately
How is it possible that a company that manages billions of dollars in retirement savings won’t maintain an app that lets its beneficiaries see how much they have and whether they are losing money or earning money? And how can employers who entrust Newport with their employees’ savings let that happen? This strikes me as a huge class action waiting to happen.

Won’t open except on first try after install
The title says it all. I know that Acensus bought Newport, but give your customers a solid app experience, will ya!?!?!?
Waste of time
This app is broken. I’ve reinstalled it a few times already and it still doesn’t work. It starts to open, then just disappears. It’s great when it works, it just hasn’t worked in years.

Problematic app
App keeps crashing. For when it worked- there is so much you can not see on this app vs the website- which is very puzzling. Newport group needs good people with UI experience to fix their app.
Consistently troubled
I use this app to track investments so it’s not daily but more often than weekly. Every time I open the app lately it crashes out and I need to reinstall it. It works the first time and then crashes again. You’d think for the billions of $$ under management and the fees we pay they could provide an app that was reliable.
Functionally and visually this is very windows 3.1 ish. I guarantee they don’t have CX staff working on this because they would quit. It’s 2026, this app should look like it. I work with 18 brokers and banks with brokerage and by far this is the worst UX. It’s sad.

App keeps crashing
After the latest update, the app crashes immediately after you login but before the OTP validation. Frustrating!!!!
Broken log in
The latest update has again messed up face login. You press instant id, it scans your face then shuts down the app. Can you get a better interface?
Won’t even load
Appears they don’t maintain this app and anytime apple does an OS upgrade the app fails. You can tell they don’t make money from

Not good at all
After the latest update, the software crashed all the time. It is heavily corrupted. Do not update!
App is a flop
I think a lot about how this company is responsible for investing my retirement money and the app doesn’t even work. Probably not my best move, but my hands are tied thanks to my job.
