Issues connecting, missing features

Wow, using the access token didn’t work. I had to inspect with Charles in order to see what it was sending. When using an api-secret, the app is supposed to sha1sum the secret before sending it as a header. It’s not doing that.
I suspect most users having trouble experience that issue here. The other option is to create an access token and add that in the nudg app. There seems to be missing instructions in the app on how to do that.

Even after getting authenticated, there’s a lot of errors that appear when using the app. The graphs work, but there’s no notes or treatments that appear on the graphs. I was just hoping to have a beautiful, easy to use interface to view my nightscout data.

Response from developer

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback—and especially for taking the time to inspect the traffic with Charles. Your technical insight was incredibly helpful. I’m pleased to let you know that we have addressed all your points in the upcoming release: * API Secret Hashing: You were spot on. I've now implemented SHA1 hashing for the API-SECRET header. This should resolve the authentication issues and the '401' errors users were experiencing. * Visible Treatments & Notes: I found that annotations were actually hidden by default. I have now enabled Carb, Insulin, and Note markers by default on the graphs. Additionally, I've doubled the 'matching window' for these entries, so treatments will appear on the graph even if your glucose readings are slightly spaced out. * Clearer Setup Instructions: I've added specific guidance to the configuration screen explaining where to find the API Secret or how to generate an Access Token within Nightscout (Admin Tools > Subjects). I really appreciate you helping me make the app more robust for the Nightscout community. The following changes will be available in the next release along with Dexcom / Libre integration as well as Nightscout.

Can’t connect to nightscout

This is unable to connect to my instance of nightscout. I’ve double and triple checked my URL and API key. Connection failed. Please check your URL and API secret.

I’ve used nightscout with a bunch of other services including some that I’ve made.

The screenshots look fantastic! I’d really like to get this working.
