Everything one could wish for in a spreadsheet
I am a long term power excel user but I am so much happier using Numbers. The advantages are obvious once you dive in but the way multiple spreadsheets can be on the same page is a game changer. Yes, there are tabs, but this is SOOoooooo much easier and prettier.

Simple, easy, straight forward, I like it.
Adequate - Good enough for light use
Not as intuitive or simple as MS Excel but now that I’m retired I’ve stopped using MS Software in favor of a fully integrated (and free) Mac system. It’s annoying and a hassle at times to try do basic things like sorting, filtering and pop-up lists but not annoying enough to pay for Office. Google sheets is simpler but I no longer user Google Apps. I prefer an all Apple integration for its iCloud, sign in security and sync across multiple devices.

I feel like a Pro
I feel like an absolute Pro as I use Numbers, and I feel like I am soaring the heights of numerical and spreadsheet excellence.
Poor Man’s Excel
This is OK for very basic spreadsheets. What is very apparent when trying to do anything that requires much manipulation of the data is that it’s very difficult to use. Anyone thinking that it’s Apple’s answer to Excel will be very disappointed. It’s not. If you want a serious spreadsheet - use Excel instead.

I have loved Numbers for years. As a CS minor, I loved the versatility and extra features of Numbers. It has turned into Google Sheets and I may now need to get Excel on my MAC to do the things I am used to doing.
Switching isn’t easy!
Switching from Excel is not at all easy for an old technophobe like me. So many things I can’t do which I once found easy. When a new version is issued should recent documents automatically transfer to the new version?
Paywall on templates!?
You now can’t create a spreadsheet from a template without signing up for a trail of “Premium” … whatever that it.
Basic vs. premium templates are not distinguished visually in any way. You can’t filter to only see free templates. This would be an easy fix.

Competes with Excel
Is amazingly similar to Excel with the Apple ecosystem powering the way. Awesome when you share documents with other people.
Magic fill makes me work twice as long.
I basically only use a few templets I have created in Numbers. I use them for creating estimates, invoicing, and documenting income, and expenses. I am currently trying to create an estimate for a customer that is time sensitive and instead I find it more useful to write this review. I cannot find a way to turn of magic fills into my spreadsheets. It has no idea what I am trying to do. It is absolutely distracting me from completing the task I currently have. It has been doing it for a while but somehow on this spreadsheet it has gotten really excited. It has never been helpful and usually it goes away but today it is as useful as 4 flat tires. I don’t need your help in my spreadsheets apple.

My reason for withholding a star is probably unfair. I have a massive spreadsheet that I use for solving Wordle. I delete lots of rows as I solve the puzzle, requiring the automated editing of boundaries for many thousands of formulas. This exceeds a design limit of Numbers, so I have to Save a Copy of the sheet, delete the original, and rename the copy to the original name, on my iMac.
On the iPad or iPhone, it’s worse. When I exceed these limits, these versions revert to a version just before the limits were exceeded. On the iMac, it’s a mere inconvenience, but on the other platforms, it effectively makes the sheet unusable, since I can’t progress forward without it reverting, again.
Aside from this, Numbers is the go to app for any math I do or simple list/database work.

Unsolicited rating request in the middle of the flow
I give all apps one star when they interrupt what I’m doing to ask for a rating. If an app deliberately disrupts my flow to solicit a review, that’s the rating it gets.
