About

Odin’s Tic-Tac-Toe starts with the classic 3×3 game and gives you eight more ways to challenge each other. Play across the room or across the world. Settle in for a live match, take turns when you have a moment, or share a screen for a friendly rivalry. Completely free. No purchases, no third-party ads, and no tracking. PLAY TOGETHER, YOUR WAY Live online: challenge a friend and trade moves in real time. Turn-based online: play at your own pace without being online together. Nearby: connect device to device and play without a Game Center account. Pass & Play: share one screen and take turns. Online matches use Game Center. Turn notifications help you keep up, and a Home Screen widget on iPhone and iPad shows when you have moves waiting. NINE WAYS TO PLAY Three in a row is only the beginning. Classic: the familiar 3×3 game. Make three in a row. Ultimate: nine small boards form one larger contest. Your move determines where your opponent plays next. Gomoku: make five in a row on a 15×15 board. Drop Four: drop shields into columns and connect four horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. 4×4: sixteen squares, with four in a row to win. 5×5: more room to build threats, still four in a row to win. Misère: turn the familiar rule upside down. Complete three in a row and you lose. Wild: either player can place either mark. Complete a matching line of three to win. Order & Chaos: both players can place either mark. Order wants five matching marks in a row; Chaos wants a full board without one. FIND YOUR CHALLENGE Play solo against four computer strengths: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Expert. Get comfortable with a new board, then raise the difficulty when you’re ready. Want a nudge? The coach suggests a move and can point out an immediate win or a way to avoid an immediate loss. Undo during local play lets you try another approach, and every board includes a How to Play guide. MAKE YOUR PROGRESS COUNT Earn XP, climb the ranks from Wanderer to Grand King, and pursue 27 achievements and 15 Game Center leaderboards, including a leaderboard for each board. Local games save automatically, so you can take a break and return to an unfinished game. A PLACE AT THE BOARD Crossed axes, round shields, parchment boards, and Longhouse gold bring the world of Odin’s Checkers to tic-tac-toe. Play on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac, with support for 50 languages, VoiceOver, and Dynamic Type. Made by the team behind Odin’s Checkers and Squared². The only promotions you’ll see are for our own games. Choose a board. Challenge a friend. See who wants the rematch.

What's New in Odin's Tic

1.1.1

September 29, 2026

Fixes: • Undo against the computer now takes back your move and the computer's reply together. • Pass & Play: a sound and a tap tell the next player it's their turn, and every board names its winner properly — "Axes win!", "Red wins!". • The results card's time is right after Play Again, and a resumed game keeps its clock. • Online: rematch offers arrive sooner, a live game that lost its first move now recovers, and a child account is told what Screen Time allows. • Nearby: a move that fails to send is sent again once the devices reconnect, instead of leaving the game stuck. • Connection messages no longer cover the board, the Back button or the turn indicator, on any device. • No error buzz when you tap while it isn't your turn, and on Apple TV the Menu button now stops a replay. • Apple TV: the menu's footer is readable again when it's focused. • Mac: the app menu now shows the game's name in your language. Play Now: on the Solo Game screen, tap an opponent to pick it, then Play Now to start. A results screen worth winning: the board, then the title — Victory!, Defeat or A Draw — then your win streak and your progress to the next level. Three wins in a row offers Raid Again, one level up. Online, rank matters: your opponent's card shows their level and what a win is worth — beating a stronger player pays more, up to 3×, and a much weaker one less. Also new: player cards on the phone, a move counter, a clearer card while a seat is empty, "Reconnected" after a nearby link recovers, How to Play over your game, a Hide button on the coach's tip, and the controls on the left in landscape.
