This is a scam

Does not work and hacks your software

Great app!

This is a great app, it can scan your child’s contacts for sex offenders and so much more!

Buggy

So I had to give my email after doing so I should be able to search city and state, but it also wants ZIP Code and other information. I don’t understand why I can’t just say the town and state? that it is in the state or whenever you move the map why nothing pops up. It’s a very outdated app that needs work

Not good

I really hope that this app is not paid for by any tax dollars. It barely functions. Nice concept, poorly done.

Response from developer

If we could get more information from you perhaps we can understand the problem better. If you send an address to info@offenderwatch.com we will confirm the results. We do tests frequently and have not had an issue such as you seemed to have experienced.

Piece of Junk

The Utah Sex Offender site sent me here. Downloaded the app but it didn’t show anything. I’ve received emails so I know there are some near me, but this app does nothing.

No pictures, no address

Terrible.

Simply doesn’t work

The app doesn’t show anything, even on major cities

Response from developer

This is not the intended behavior of the app, and we want to help you resolve this issue. A common cause for this problem is the app's location permissions. To function correctly and show offenders near you, the app needs permission to access your device's location. Please email suport@offenderwatch.com for further assistance.

doesn't do anything

This app appear to just be a ploy to start a subscription. It is tricky in that it just pops up a pay prompt randomly, hoping you accept. I did not see anything listed on the map.

Response from developer

Regarding your inability to see anything on the map, this may be due to a technical issue or a setting on your device. For the free version to work, you will need to grant the app permission to access your location. If you continue to have trouble, please contact our support team at support@offenderwatch.com and we'd be happy to walk you through the process and troubleshoot the issue.

Garbage App

Does not work in Austin Texas. There is nothing here? Texas is full of pedos and other apps tell me where they are. Disappointing.

Response from developer

Thank you for your review. We're very sorry to hear the app isn't working for you in Austin and that your experience has been disappointing. We understand your frustration, especially when other apps show you different data. OffenderWatch provides highly accurate, real-time information directly from law enforcement agencies, which is a key difference from apps that may scrape from less reliable sources. While this ensures better quality data, it can sometimes mean that coverage in a specific jurisdiction is not yet fully integrated. To help you resolve this, please first confirm that the app has **location permissions** enabled on your device. If it does, please try using the **manual search** with a specific Austin address or zip code to see if that returns results. If you continue to have this issue, please email our support team directly at **support@offenderwatch.com**. We want to investigate this for you and ensure you can access the information you need. Your feedback is crucial as we work to improve our coverage for all communities.

No search results

Horrible app. Hard to navigate. And have not been able to pull up a single Sex offender in a 20 mile radius.

Response from developer

We recommend checking your device's location services to make sure they are enabled for our app. Sometimes, this can affect the accuracy of the search results. If the problem persists, please contact our support team at support@offenderwatch.com with your device type and a description of the issue so we can help you directly.

Was This App Forgotten?

Downloaded because the Sheriff suggested that we do because we just were made aware of two pedo’s that moved into our subdivision a month ago. Several live in the neighboring area as well that we knew of a few months ago. THIS App is garbage, I am assuming that it hasn’t been updated in months or even years and it’s asking for money for a paid subscription??? No way Jose. I am deleting this app

Not bad

I’m keeping it for the time being because the state that I live in (New Hampshire) doesn’t easily offer a map to view offenders in your radius.

This app helps with that, and it does seem to show the ones in my area just fine. It was easy to set up and it’s simple to interact with. I linked it with my Apple account and was good to go within a minute or two of installing.

It does feel unfinished, though. While yes, it shows the offender’s name, it doesn’t show anything else about them. No image or list of their convictions, so unfortunately, then I have to go pull up the website and cross search their information just to see that for myself.

That’s very tedious, time consuming, and if it weren’t for the fact that, again, my state for some reason doesn’t like to make maps of this available to the public for some reason, it would be enough to turn me off of the app entirely.

It would be very nice to see that data fetched or at the very least, provide an actual direct link to the individual’s profile (not just the search engine where I’ll still have to manually type in the name and zip code).

Also, a dark mode toggle would be wonderful. The eye strain is a killer.

App doesn’t do anything

My app didn’t even search when I put an address in. Downloaded and uninstalled within 3 mins

If I could make my review negative stars, I would.

App reports very old data, listing addresses not on any offender registries. They’re putting innocent people at risk and opening themselves up to legal action. Who’s monitoring all this? They’re certainly cashing all the subscriber checks coming in, but not providing a real service. Fraud.

DO NOT GET

The app doesn’t even start up or open. Do not waste your time read the other reviews.

Paid and Robbed.

Paid for the upgraded version and it won’t work. The app has no changes. I try to search and it says to subscribe to family watch which I already did and paid for + is in my Apple subscriptions. When I go to press subscribe again nothing happens. Reading the comments this is a known issue that has not been fixed. How much money has been stolen by the app creators? Makes me think a predator is behind this app to make it difficult to search other sick people.

Hello, Please email support@offenderwatch.com and I would be glad to help you setup a new paid account. Thanks.

Lazy app

You click on more information for the offender, and it basically just tells you to look it up yourself.

Does not work

Apparently, Vermont only uses this database for the public to search for offenders. And the only way to view this information is through the app.

Nothing shows up. Have tried multiple addresses just to make sure it want me, but the app just shows a map - with absolutely zero information about convicted sex offenders on it. It just looks like google maps.

Tried to go to the help section and it’s just FAQ and no way to contact anyone to ask how to better use the app. This should be public information. The free version doesn’t do anything - and you shouldn’t have to pay for this information anyway.

Response from developer

The state of Vermont does not allow for residential addresses for sex offenders to be published. When you run a search within the state of Vermont, you will get no results. But you can search by name and see records in Vermont that way. The offender maps work anywhere else in the United States where sex offenders have publishable information. The paid features of the OffederWatch app are designed for parents who may have children active on social media, online video games, and with email addresses.

Paid version not working

I upgraded to the Family Watch paid version to use the tracking. Apple confirmed the subscription, but when attempting to used any of the paid features, I’m being promoted to upgrade again. However, even attempting to select the upgrade button does nothing.

Canceling the subscription, disappointing not to be able to use. But the free version does what it says it will with no issues so far.

Please email support@offenderwatch.com and I would be happy to help you with this issue. Depending on which type of device your children are using will determine if text message alerts, phone call alerts, and watch list will work. Right now, on iphone devices we are only supporting the Locations utility, Offender Location alerts, and email offender alerts.
