Stopped working
Mine stopped working. Tried to get into the app and it said my email was not on the system. Tried to reregister and keeps asking me for my account number. I have no idea. Now my ohm plugs are useless 😡

When tapping schedule, app immediately crashes. Tried reinstalling but no luck.

While the latest app added on off button to home page which is nice but it also got rid of historical usage, now limited to 7 days (used to let you view many months back). Can’t drill down or see any plugs firmware version.

Tedious manual update for 30 individual plugs
Poor implementation
I got one of these plugs. It only supports 2.4 ghz wifi. I put it on a small load with a more than sufficient battery. I’ve had it disconnect power twice but not return power until the battery fails and I go to investigate.
I suspect it’s getting a disconnect signal but missing the reconnect signal. Supporting modern wifi standards or having a maximum off time setting would resolve this.

Inconsistent Is the Nicest I Can Say
The plugs work 20% of the time, at best. Customer service doesn’t help. It’s a waste of time; saved me no money. I’m going back to putting timers on my appliances.
Return call? Don’t hold your breath!
ZERO customer service! I’m still waiting for a return call to what was a SECOND request (August 2024!) for help on a new device I couldn’t get linked. I called last night for a problem with my two devices. CRICKETS…but the year is still young.
Not Good
The plug turned off my refrigerator all day. After I removed the plug I have not had a problem.
Doesn’t work.
So I have 10 plugs, I can see them across my iPhone and Android devices. However, Ohmconnect and Google Home says I don’t have any devices, therefore I don’t have any device that can participate during ohm hours. Also the app stopped saving daily usage. Completely useless now other than turning on/off appliances.

Nonfunctional
I purchased an Ohmplug and downloaded the app on the recommendation of a friend even though I was confused about how it worked (e.g. how it determines the power requirements of plugged in appliances re. saving energy). But I figured accompanying documentation or info. on the website would explain all that - strike one; I could find nothing that explained any of that.
So I figured that I was just being dense and should give it a go. I followed the connection instructions (a number of times in all of the suggested modes) and continually got a connection failed response. I have no other problems with my network or bluetooth connections and went through all of the trouble shooting suggestions via the app without success. I guess the bright side is that I’m only out 12 bucks…

Easy money
Most of the time I don’t even pay attention to the energy saving events and I’ve still turned in my earned “watts” to PayPal for a couple hundred bucks over the last year. For pretty much not doing anything
Does not show electric usage
The reading for Electricity Usage is always 0.00 kWh. The reason I got this plug was so I could report my electric usage. I’m disappointed.
Will not recognize WiFi network
Update: their support team responded quickly to my email: the key is to allow *precise* location permission. This important step is omitted from their app instructions and web site, which I hope is included on their next app update. It now works perfectly and seamlessly with Home.
Using their latest update and a new Ohmplug, and iOS18.1, trying to add a new plug produces a message that it is necessary to connect to a 2.4GHz network, and offers me a Setup WiFi button. Selecting that gives me a popup saying to set all permissions, but all permissions are already set. Therefore installing a new plug is impossible.

Set up difficult but customer service great
I received numerous error messages while attempting to set up and pair my Ohm plug, but help was on the way, and customer service reps seemed genuinely interested in helping me.

Thank you for sharing your experience! When you receive the message to provide all permissions to add device, choose Settings. From there, select Location and ensure it is set to Always or While Using and your Precise Location is turned on. Then, return to the OhmPlug app and try again. I hope this helps!
