I could not activate my eSIM despite following the instructions in the pdf, and consequently could not install the eSIM either. When I contacted the support staff, the diagnosises and fix attempts got me nowhere (was issued another eSIM to activate but that didn’t activate) and when I messaged them about this, I was ignored by Raluca. It seems like a promising service of the setup could work but it didn’t in my case.

A Complete Scam: Unusable Speeds, Zero Reliability, and a Nightmare for Travelers
I purchased three separate plans for a recent European trip, and not a single one worked as advertised. This is not user error; this is a fundamentally broken network that leaves travelers stranded.
Here is the breakdown of my experience across three countries:
* Germany (30 Days, 20 GB): The speed was a joke—often under 2–3 Mbps. I couldn’t even send a single photo to my family without waiting for minutes! Worse, the data would completely vanish for 5-minute stretches in major cities in Germany. I lost navigation in the middle of the city center and again at the airport upon arrival. Without maps, I was completely lost.
* Austria (1 GB, 7 Days): I used this solely for navigation for one day. The very next morning, I was cut off while at the central cemetery trying to call an Uber to the airport. I had to frantically search for open Wi-Fi to avoid missing my flight. This product nearly cost me a missed flight and a stranded situation in a foreign country.
* Switzerland: Most of the time, the data simply did not work in the city. The city I was at in Switzerland has almost no open Wi-Fi, so I was forced to trace bus routes manually just to find a train station.
The Conclusion: This product does not reduce travel stress; it creates it. For the price I paid (over €40), I received a service that is inferior to a €10 local SIM card.
A warning to future buyers: Do not fall for the positive reviews. Given my 0/3 success rate across three different countries, I am convinced many of those reviews must be fake. Save your money. Buy a local SIM for €10 and get 20 GB of data that actually works across the EU. Do not make the mistake I did.

J’ai acheté à nouveau une ESim pour mon prochain voyage en France. Sur l’app, je suis en FRANÇAIS. Puis Orange m’envoie un sondage en ANGLAIS. Il faut être très con pour ne pas respecter la langue de ses clients et au Canada, il y a 2 langues OFFICIELLES et le Québec est une province francophone. Mais bon, on sait qu’ont France, on est fier de se comporter en colonisés! « Sur le rooftop. lol. »

If you think ‘Japan: 31.6 gigs remaining’ means ‘I have 31 gigs to use in Japan’ YOUD BE COMPLETELY WRONG! You have to be on top of your own data, and ignore what it tells you on the app 🥲

Great option for travel to Europe
I am US-based and recently traveled to Europe. I downloaded the app and found it very easy to buy the eSIM then activate it. Quality was excellent and I was so glad I could use the same eSIM in all the countries I visited! I will buy it again for my next trips!

Been using this app for all my international trips and it had never failed me!! Super easy and fast to use, I get service as soon as I land :) Just make sure you have a fully paid off and unlocked phone and you’re all set to use this app!
At Some Point, You Have to Ask if Orange is Even Listening
4 releases in a row, and this app still will not open beyond the initial startup screen on an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Have fully deleted this app, restarted iPhone, reinstalled multiple times, still never opens beyond “Connected Even Abroad” splash screen. Who is actually testing these releases at Orange??? And what are we doing to really assess and fix these basic app access problems. Just forces you to use the web site interface in order to do anything.

Worked for me
Didn’t have any problems other users reported. Worked well while I was travelling round Europe. Only issue was the it didn’t want to call Swiss numbers (all others fine), but data worked in Switzerland not a big issue. May use when travelling again.
Terrible coverage and endless robocalls
I bought a eSIM for 30 days, I needed a phone number to communicate with friends in Europe. I keep receiving robocalls and commercial calls for solar panels and energy things. I contacted orange and they said they couldn’t do anything about it. They recommended I use a blocking app. The coverage is terrible and the data are awfully slow.

Great using Orange eSIMs when away travelling. The plans are good value and the connections work reliably so you get the service you need. When anything goes wrong at home or away the Help Team via the app or the website are super responsive which is perfect, especially when travelling.

I’m not sure if Orange has changed something over the last few months, but my experience has been nothing like the negative reviews I’ve been reading. The app is intuitive, easy to use, and the setup process is quick and straightforward. I use when I travel to Spain, and it has worked flawlessly. Excellent value for the price

Appli ne fonctionne pas
J’ai téléchargé l’appli sur un iPhone 17 Pro Max à jour et rien n’y fait, je reste coincé sur un écran de chargement, sans aucune possibilité de faire quoi que ce soit avec. J’ai beau avoir fermé et rouvert l’appli, le même écran reste affiché.

Worst eSIM ever
Would not recommend. The eSIM stopped working abroad with zero warning — no push, SMS, or email about running out of data. The in-app usage tracker was broken (support admitted the bug). I was left with no connectivity in a foreign country at a critical moment and couldn't even book a taxi.
Instead of helping, support pushed me to buy a top-up, and when I asked for a refund they gave a scripted "trust our system" reply and shifted focus to my tone rather than answering the actual issue. The key question — why no data-depletion notification was ever sent — was never addressed.
On top of that, the quality: for €9 per 3 GB you expect a decent service — in reality both coverage and connection quality were awful. Speeds never exceeded 1–5 Mb/s, there was never any stable LTE, and the connection constantly dropped to a level where almost nothing works properly. For that price it's genuinely poor.
A reliable travel eSIM must warn you before data runs out, show accurate usage, and provide a stable connection. This one does none of that. Not worth the money.
