Useless
Genuinely extremely unhelpful, inaccurate parking data. Has misled me and others countless times
Unhelpful, Confusing, and Not The Solution
this app is not going to fix the severe lack of parking at Texas State University. It honestly is dangerous for commuter students to try and check this as they arrive to see where the best parking is. My first 2 semesters commuting I never had an issue finding parking, but the last year and a half after the other commuter garage was changed to be on campus living parking only and a record intake of freshman class students is when parking became impossible. It was a direct choice that put commuting students (who already have to park almost a mile from the main campus) at an unfair disadvantage for a school that has a hefty number of commuter students. Tx State offers a public transport system to on campus students so why not have first year students with free public transport forgo having on campus parking to allow the many commuting students access to more parking. This app also has a really awkward interface that makes it confusing to read in real time so it’s not very user-friendly + the information coming to students about what this app can do has been misinforming and contradictory as not all the things the emails have told us it can do are actually done through the app. Lastly, whoever is responding to these reviews: it is unfair of you to put it on the reviewers/students to get word out about this app that is not currently successful. Many commuting students don’t make many on campus connections so how would it be on them to inform their fellow texas state students about this app and if they did, they themselves have seemed to have negative experiences with both the app and the parking situation and the only remedy is fixing the parking on campus for commuters showing them that they are wanted on campus and you want them to prioritize their education and not worry about not being able to find a space to park.

Car Location is Never Accurate
Edit: I don’t constantly get “citation warning” notifications anymore but the app still never actually tracks where I parked my car. Why say you fixed something when the issue is still there?
Edit 2: the citation warnings happen when I’m parked in the right area again

Response from developer
Hey Sabre, thanks for letting us know about this. We just released an app update that improves parking accuracy, so your parked car location should now be tracked more reliably. Please make sure you’re running the latest version of ParkTXST, and you should see an improvement. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us continue to refine the experience.
