Horrible Service

I had a car with the service that I deleted, for some reason they reactivated it and made me pay fees for someone else, since the car has nothing to do with me. I requested to remove the car from account and deactivate my account. A year later I receive an email from them sayin that that old car is ready to be used with the app. I download the app again. They say it’s a glitch the car is inactive even if it shows active on the profile, but the profile was never deactivated even with my requests through customer services and me trying to do so manually following the steps.
Bad service. Use something else.

Be aware with a rental

I used Uproad for the first time in Orlando on a rental car. Convenient, however, we turned our car in at 4:40AM and requested to end the service in the morning. I am still paying tolls for the people who rented the car after me and charged tolls in the PM after we were long gone. Was told by Uproad that there is nothing they can do about those tolls bc their Terms require the tolls to be paid and blamed the rental service for not turning off the toll service. I don’t understand what the rental service has to do with it. I didn’t do tolls through the rental service, I thought that was the purpose of using the app. I will not be using it again on a rental car if the service cannot be discontinued when requested.

Dear Food good app not, we greatly appreciate your review and welcome all feedback. We are constantly working to improve our service and every opinion matters to us. There is an option to make the vehicle rental and set the activity period when it is added to the account, however in case it is added as a personal vehicle it is on the customer to remove it when services are no longer required.

Missed Tolls

I live in florida and frequent the skyway. Figured I’d try out this app as opposed to getting sunpass again. Functioned fine for 6 months but in the last two months sometimes Uproad picks up the toll and I get the charge but, half the time I get charged on Uproad and am also receiving notices in the mail for “ unpaid tolls” from the expressway authority. So I get double charged and the city still doesn’t recognize the payment. Uproad said they would take care of it and never did. Received a collection notice in the mail and registration freeze on my car.

This app is more of a pain than it’s worth

Does not provide immediate coverage of tolls

Be aware that you need to install and ACTIVATE any and all cars well before you need to use the service. This app does not make that clear when you first download the app. I live in a state that doesn’t have many toll roads so I don’t use toll roads on a regular basis. I downloaded this app when I realized that I would be traveling a toll road. If I had known that it wouldn’t cover those tolls, I would never have downloaded and added money to this app.

Hampton roads

Have used for 2 years now. Works in Hampton roads, called toll agency to verify tolls were being paid. Would definitely recommend.

Would’ve Given Zero Stars if I Could’ve

Total scam! I downloaded this app over a year ago and deleted it because it had poor toll coverage and I didn’t need it. Out of nowhere I just received an email from from Uproad stating that I owe them money for paid tolls and a $30 late fee, even though this was the first email I received. My family drove to NC and somehow this app that I no longer have downloaded double paid for my tolls without my knowledge or consent. Now they want me to pay a late fee even though I was unaware of the situation. I’m now forced to deal with customer service in an online chat in the app. What a joke!

Great way to pay tolls!

Used the app on a rental car in California- saved by giving me a lower rate, and the customer service allowed me to quickly cancel as soon as I turned in the rental. Very satisfied!

Fraud charges

Tried to delete the app since my state has no toll roads only used it in California wouldn’t let me delete account then received an email from company that I changed my email to a no lie 50 character email and then there were charges on my card from yesterday. I hadn’t been in California in over a month, now had to cancel credit card and then contact these people. This seems to be a trend with this company.

Not a good App at all

I got screwed by this app I got violations from two states and now waiting on the other violations because my vehicle was not integrated in any of the states they said that I was active in. Now I am just waiting on the other states. They did refund me the membership amount and stated they are paying one of the violations…. Will see if they do…. I trusted them but now I cannot…. Why they say you are active when you are not, they could have warned me that I was not in the states system.

Ripped off

I canceled my subscription after they charged my account twice plus charged me for paying my toll road usage. However The Toll Road charged me and now violated me for not paying my usage. Uproad is claiming they just found my file and are going to refund me the charge. But wait Uproad what about The Toll Road violation for not paying on time. Very bad customer service. I can’t even get them to help me and they still haven’t refunded me after half of year.

Didn’t pay tolls

We went on a road trip on February 2022 this app did not pay the tolls as I got a bill in the mail for it but they did take the money for the tolls. It’s been 3 months. So now I’m paying the tolls twice. We took another road trip in April 2020 same thing took money for the tolls and now I wait for that bill to come. I canceled this app and got an IPass.

Recommend to friends

Uproad is convenient and easy to use. Have many friends with App as well. Highly recommend

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP

I downloaded this app just in case I needed to use it on a long road trip - I uploaded my rental car info and my credit card info just in case so I could turn it on quickly if needed. I never ended up needing it, so I deleted the app.

Fast forward to a year later and I start to get emails from Uproad about toll payments being processed. I wanted to contact customer support to tell them that it wasn’t my car and to please refund it, and they refused to refund them money and said that deleting the app doesn’t delete the account.

Users BEWARE - not only does this app not have any safeguard in place for its users to toggle on/off the toll tracker, or to disable the toll tracker when the app is closed, but they even take it a step further and draw money from accounts that have supposedly been deleted. In addition, their customer service is not interested or willing to do what they should to make it right. All they did was send me a copy of the user agreement and tell me to read the fine print.

All in all, I’m lucky that I caught it early and only lost about $10-$20, but I wanted to get the word out to help you all avoid my mistake - do not use this app, and if you do, read all the fine print first!

Be EXTRA Attentive When you try to close your account

I’m out a chunk of change because I apparently did not follow the account closeups process correctly. App was not what I needed it to be so I thought I followed the process as outlined on the app… apparently that was not the case. Not quite a ‘buyer beware’ issue where I’m concerned enough to report it, but I am fairly tech savvy and this is not the app/ subscription I’ve terminated. This is the first time I’ve seen when after I followed the prescribed steps only to keep paying… a little sketchy is all.

Read the fine print.

I accidentally switched one of the numbers on my license plate. I have since been receiving charges that are not even for my car. After reporting this they said it didn’t matter that I’m responsible for it. I canceled my account and I’m still being told that for the next 30 day I’m responsible for any additional charges. Ridiculous. Customer service is non existent. Do yourself a favor and don’t get this app.

They just stole my money

These people are thieves. Paid $20 for a Plus plan. As a visually impaired senior in error I entered ONE letter off for my plate. When I provided them with the toll bill PROVING the ONE letter discrepancy with the photo of MY actual plate they said that’s too bad and refused to pay the tolls, make the correction or REFUND MY $20. Seriously?? Then they closed my account keeping my money. This is probably why the Harris County Toll Authority said they’ve never heard of them. Beware.

Absolute scam

Like other reviewers: they promise a seamless toll paying experience but cannot deliver. They took $20, paid none of my tolls, have not refunded me the $20, and meanwhile i get a notice for three unpaid tolls from August when I set up the account. I have filed a Better Business Bureau complaint as I have sent two messages to support and never heard back. Avoid at all costs.

Great for travel

This app has helped make traveling with a rental car so much more convenient! I no longer have to agonize over whether it is cost effective to rent the local toll pass. I had an issue after I first downloaded the app and the customer service was excellent; they replied right away and corrected the problem.

Do Not Use This App Is Fraud

Just like 99% of all the negative reviews here it is true so not sign up with them I used the app only once and now 10 months later after selling my vehicle to a Lexus dealer they are still charging me for tolls the vehicle isn’t even registered to me anymore. Poor Customer service no actual phone number everything is done through email. I gave them last chance to correct after being billed the 3rd time and have notified my capital one they’re committing fraud and they just responded well if you choose not to pay your account just “request to close your account”. Do no sign up with them you have been warned

HORRENDOUS APP.

This app is literally bogus, I no longer live in California and I’m not the registered owner of an old vehicle. Uproad knows that and they continue to charge me and threaten to charge a $30 violation fee. I’ve communicated in the chat every single day for two weeks and have asked to speak to a manager each time and they claim that the manager will call me. I have never heard from a manager just two employees named George and Dora. Today I chat with them and they claimed that the manager is on sickleave. Long story short there’s horrible customer service and I do not recommend this app for anyone.
