Horrific app

What is the purpose of going offline, setting up an auto response to call the answering service, and marking all messages as done if someone can still send a message or continue a conversation? My shift is over and we have proper coverage. What is the point of marking the message as done?

Why must it be this bad?

You can communicate, but there doesn't appear to be a way to specify which patients you want to create a thread for. So, you are constantly getting bombarded with messages about others' patients, and the only way to tell if the message applies to you or your patients is to read--all of them.

Also, the app randomly decides to stop alerting you of pages.

Just gets worse

Unreliable! Terrible support service.

Gets worse with each update

This app has never been great, but with every update, it seems to be getting worse, not better. The latest update sends SMS notifications, but the messages aren’t seen. Reloading the app fixes this problem intermittently, but not reliably. Can somebody implement quality control process for new releases of this app?

Bad funtionality

this app does not work well at all. Functionally it has many deficits. First is that the app can be open you will receive a new message notification, but then be unable to view it. You have to then completely close the app out and log back in by reopening the app in order for the new message to load to be visible. Secondly, even when you’ve read a message, it will notify you that you have an unread message later, even though you’ve already looked at the message. I have to use this for my employer, but if I had any other choice, I would try to find something different. It’s not a very user-friendly app

Buggy App that is an intrusive necessity for hospital practice

Messaging mostly works and is great for looping providers and admin into secure group chats that may have been initiated with fewer people.

The app is terrible in that you essentially give your personal cell phone number out to every single person working in the hospital. People call straight through the app with no regard for what you might be doing. You can only designate yourself as completely unavailable and get zero alerts or allow all of them, including direct calls (with no voicemail) while you are seeing patients or talking on the phone.

Also, for years, buggy alerts keep going off even after being read AND alerts go off with no messages present except they slowly appear after refreshing the list.

Constant chats at all hours of the day and night with users wanting instant physician access often with zero critical thinking prior to texting has truly changed medicine for the worse.

Same old

New name, same terrible glitchy app.

Annoying to use

This app always sends notifications of unread messages despite reading all my messages. This causes me to unnecessarily check my app many times in a day. The apple watch version of this app is even worse with notifications. If i check a message on my watch, that same message on my phone will still be “unread” which forces me to check my phone, which defeats the purpose of having an apple watch. PLEASE FIX THIS. It would also be nice to group texts by patient name on the main conversation tab. It would be nice to force people to use professional identifiers (MD, DO, PA, NP, RN, etc) and specialty (pediatrics, family med, gen surgery, etc) for more organization. I should get paid for these suggestions SMFH.

Go back to TelMediq

You didn’t think tank this new name enough

Lame

Lame name change. TelemedIQ was so good. Now I have to say “I’ll perfectserve you”. Nah. How am I supposed to tell a doctor “well I served you about it”

Awful

The functionality of this app would be acceptable for 15 years ago. I can’t believe the hospital actually purchased this for its providers.

privacy

why would an app thats supposed be hipaa then go and scrape your personal and professional data? we're forced to use this at my work. i never do on my phone because they dont seem to understand privacy. non of our IT guys use it - wonder why 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Works well

We use this app for all our clinical communications. 99% of the time the app works well. It has issues if you are in an area with no WiFi or cellular signal. We’ve integrated it with our EMR and it make communication even easier as it’s done from patients chart.

There’s no landscape mode - WHY???

This is a proper iPad app - not an iPhone app scaled up - yet somehow it doesn’t support landscape mode. I’m using an iPad Pro with an Apple keyboard, and it is impossible for me to use this app if I want to TYPE WORDS INTO A MESSENGER. Way to flop the landing, devs.

Only Portrait Orientation on an iPad

Unable to use keyboard in landscape orientation on an iPad.

Title next to name is NEEDED

I’m a physician and this app is very difficult to use in the conversation tab. It would be very helpful if next to the receivers name of the message it said what their title is (RN, ENT MD, etc) because when there are many pages it’s very difficult to assess who is who. This has a huge impact on timely replies and overall patient care.

Weak functionality

-Please allow providers to view in-app messages during an in-app phone call
-The auto reply rules I create for some reason don’t trigger if you have an existing thread and you turn your status to offline. Change this.
-This app destroys battery like no other if you have just a few voice-only conversations on the phone per day. Please make it less resource heavy. I have an iPhone <6mo old, no location services on, few background apps allowed to refresh, and running few apps at a time. It is not a symptom of my device.
-Good selection of ring tones, thank you for finally allowing dictation into the app on iOS 16.

Awful

I’ve complained several times regarding the app crashing when receiving a phone call. I was told to disconnect from Wi-Fi which I have done. Still happens probably 7/10 phone calls. No fix. Happens on every phone I try. It’s infuriating waiting for staff to return a call after the initial disconnect and a huge wast of valuable time. I also do not like that I cannot see what time past phone calls occurred. The app is just junk overall. Needs a lot of work.

Unsafely Slow

I use Telmediq in the ICU setting. The process of sending a critical message to a Provider includes logging in, finding the patient, finding the HCP, and filling out about 6 sections of identifiers and subject lines to send a quick message. If you change the urgency from “general” to “high importance”, you lose your entire message and identifiers and have to start over.
Suggestions: Once the patient is selected, the user should not have to rewrite identifiers like MRN, birthday, patient’s name, or room number, as they are repetitive. The user should be able to change the message urgency without losing the original message.
I also have not been able to “join the care team”, and have opened 4 total tickets that have all been shortly closed without resolving the issue.
Overall, I find Telmediq to be unrealistic and far too time-consuming for use in the inpatient setting. Telmediq would be more safe and practical if the messaging system was significantly streamlined.
