Animal fedder

The best fedder i was using for animal a long term…

Less mess and easy.

I love this machine. We have two male cats and it keeps the mess down considerably . There was a lot of mess around their old, traditional box. Very little with this one. Smell is minimal. Knowing that they’re “going” is a relief when we’re not home for a while. App is easy to navigate. We also have the water fountain and like having them both on the same app.

Notifications daily for nothing

There is always a notification indicating a reason to open the app but there are not in fact any notifications when I click on the “notifications” section. It’s annoying. I have notifications set up for only when the fountain needs refilled. Yet it gives me a notification icon every single day and it irritates me to constantly check it, worried that the water has run out on my cats, even though I know it has not. Every single other notification setting I have turned off in the app, multiple times. Fix it.

Keep stopping

Always say not enough water when it’s filled keep adjusting can’t make it work. Problematical

Issues with wifi connectivity

App is excellent apart from when trying to sync phone to feeders. Always have difficulty connecting it when they go offline- eg after power outage. Very very frustrating.

PETKIT

Very good

Great reminders and piece of mind

This feeder linked to my phone gives me such piece of mind that everything is okay at home and the cats are being fed while I am out of the house.
I also like the reminders to change the desiccant as I definitely would not remember to do that every month.

Dark Mode

Very good app but why it doesn’t have a dark mode because at night it is so bright. I hope one day you add this feature

Manual food dispensing is unreliable

I was happy with the device but lately there seems to be an issue with app and device connectivity. Manual food dispensing from the app (feed now) is unreliable and simply doesn’t work most of the time.

Bluetooth, Easy Clean, Easy Use, Single Small Pet Fountain

The Petkit Smart Water Fountain is extremely easy to clean, very little hard to reach crevices. The top bowl area has an easy clean surface, and I think as long as you don’t scratch the plastic parts, it should remain easy to clean. They supply you with a little tool that has a cleaning brush on one end and a little pair of tweezers at the other end (to take the impeller out to clean), very useful to get into every spot.

This is a Bluetooth (connecting with in your average sized home) unit, so it only gives you information on your pet’s water visits and whether the fountain is empty or whether they have been drinking, when you ARE home. It is NOT wifi capable (when you are not home) on its own. Apparently, you can link the water dish with Petkit’s (very expensive) litter boxes so that it gives information through wifi. However, I cannot speak to whether the litter boxes are worth getting, as I do not own one and really don’t know much about it.

It has timers that you can set the duration of; when the unit needs to be cleaned or when the filters need to be changed. As this is on a timer, you will be notified wherever you are at that time, through your cellphone. And it will send you reminders, until you reset it, telling the app that you have cleaned it, or changed the filters.

The app is fairly easy to use, and lets you know roughly how much time your pet has been at the water fountain. It does this via a motion sensor that detects when anything (including human legs/feet) are near. So, do not put it in a high traffic area (which includes small children). It also, tracks every time she goes and smells the water or goes and stares at it for no reason lol 😹

Furthermore, the fountain does not differentiate between pets. So, if you want to keep track of water visits, it would be best for single pet home.

This unit can be used corded or cordless (wireless), and has 3 modes; continuous flow, timed flow, or motion sensor flow, however if you use it cordless it will only allow you to use it in motion sensor flow to conserve battery power.

Battery life, I find, is excellent, lasting more than a month, although we keep it in a very low traffic area and we only have one old cat, that sleeps most of the day lol 😸

Also, the top dish is fairly small, so unless you have a cat sized dog, I wouldn’t recommend it for dogs. The fountain is taller, and might not be low enough for some kittens, however it is very user friendly for arthritic cats or small dogs. My cat is 14yrs old, and arthritic and she uses it easily.

My cat took to it almost immediately. And she is from the Siamese family, so she is quite fussy.

My version of this water fountain can be put in the dishwasher (not the electrical components) but the bowl and water container. Personally, I find it just as easy to hand wash them, and wouldn’t bother paying more to have the dishwasher version, although I assume they use more durable parts for this version (so maybe it will last longer🤞🏽).

Your filters and pump will last longer if you use filtered water or even cooled kettle water. Best recommendations are in the manual. I did a lot of research before buying this unit, and would recommend it as long as you know its parameters. I hope this helps anyone considering a pet water fountain. Thank you 🙏🏽

Scaredy Cat

It’s a nice design but my cat refuses to use it. It’s been four days and my cat still won’t use the litter box. He goes to the bathroom in random places in the house over using the litter box, I’m ready to throw it out and ask for a refund

Terrible product

This product requires daily cleaning and only makes taking care of my cats much more arduous I am better off with daily scooping of a simple box and weekly cleaning of a metal box. If I could give it no stars I would.

Glitchy and temperamental

If the Petkit development team spent 1/50th of the attention they put into developing devices, into app development they might actually have a functioning app. Half the time it is giving me the tutorial for new users or says the pet is using the device. In the rare event they make updates, you can no longer find where or how to manage reminders or mark that you have cleaned the box or added litter. Sadly, Ii’s very frustrating and needs an entire overhaul.

Not the best

This litter tray has a mind of its own. Stops working, have to clean the sensors, the Ai camera keeps telling me the cat urine is acidic, the bin liners refill system works on and off, had endless issues with it. Too many options in the litter tray creates more problems. Def prefer my Whiskas Robot4 litter tray, it's so much easier to use and less hassle.

Awesome device

The best investment for my kittens. I recommend it full heartedly. I only wish I would have gotten it with the camera.

Playback malfunction

Within the second week of having this, the playback feature quit working. It just loads but never plays. I emailed support but got no technical support. Only endless questions to answer. The camera was one of the main reasons I bought the thing.

Not intuitive to use

This is not very easy to use.

I was skeptical

I was very skeptical when I got this box for my three cats that are all between 11 and 15 lbs. The biggest one, Kayce, has taken to it very well. I have three other litter boxes, so I’m letting them use it as they get comfortable with it. I would recommend to anybody that’s considering getting one to turn off the automatic cleaning after each use just so it doesn’t spook them while they get used to it.

I never smell it and I have it set to clean it in the middle of the night so it’s clean in the morning and then again later in the day. I haven’t had any problem with litter sticking to any part of the box but I took my friends advice and bought the Dr Elsey’s world‘s best litter to use in it and it works very well. I did a lot of research before I bought this and have seen a lot of automatic litter boxes because I own a Cat Sitting company. I hate to name names. But the most popular litter box on the market is the one my Sitter’s I have had the most trouble with as as far as not working properly while the owners are gone. I fully intend to get another one to replace one of my other three boxes. The only issue I have had is my Internet is downstairs and the litter box is upstairs so occasionally depending on how this strong the signal is, it may have a little bit of trouble operating with the signal in my house. But so far it’s just made it a little slow responding. I would highly recommend this box.

Bluetooth junk

Bluetooth continues to fail miserably and freezes the app entirely despite lack of connection.

Poor measurement

The volume of the food choices are ridiculous. It shouldn’t be this hard to set food amounts. In addition using gram is unnecessary. In America, measurements are by cups or ounces not grams. There should be a way in settings to convert it.
