Poor quality app and hardware. Avoid
Barely works
I’m at the end of my tether with this app. Sometimes it works but all too often it doesn’t. Take today for example. I have absolutely no idea where my cat is right now. I’ve been trying to set the app to fast+ for three hours and it just won’t do it. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled it and all I have is a location from midday and it’s now after 3pm. What am I paying for? It’s useless. Oh well. I’m sure my cat is fine, wherever he is

Great system - app needs work!
The collar and transmitter box is great and really accurate but the app is so glitchy … it could be so much better!
Massive help for our missing cat
I am very keen to champion this product. Our cat went missing for 48hrs, which is very unusual. The customer service I received in that time was excellent. Anna and then Zoe gave up lots of their time and were there even when I made the home station mobile, talking me through each step of the process. We eventually found our cat, who had been injured after being hit by a car. Without the collar, mobile home station and customer service support, we fear this would not have happened. Much recommended.

Best by far
PetTracer is the only tracker that is really designed for cats.
After having tried every tracker on the market I can tell you is worth every penny. Very good customer support and peace of mind I can track my cat and find him if lost inside a shed or garage

Genuinely appalling
I’m so upset by how much frustration this app has caused me. Missing cats, terrible functionality and the most frustrating delays. It works about 2 hours after you need it to. Not what you need when trying to find your cat.
Needs computer to setup
You need a computer to set up the base station. We only have a phone and iPad and don’t own a computer.
I love seeing where my cat is
Works really well and shows me what my cat is up to. Have contacted support a few times and they have always been prompt with replies and helpful. Would recommend
Updated but made worse
The new and “improved” app has taken a few steps back in performance, it no longer automatically updates and so you are forced to stop and restart every time you do activities such as charging the collar. It also has a habit of logging you out constantly.
New app is dreadful!
I've been using PetTracer for about 4yrs now and it's been great. The new app update is dreadful!! Not intuitive, doesn't update as expected.
Please bring back the more simplistic app. I would have more faith in finding my cat with it than the latest version

Great potential but doesn’t work well
I had high hopes for these trackers - I fitted one to each of my cats but unfortunately the signal does not update nearly often enough. I have them on “fast” mode which is supposed to give an updated signal every 10 mins if the cat is moving and every hour if it’s not. However neither the mobile app nor the website show regular updated positions. Currently the collars are showing positions of more than 12 hours ago which would be hopeless if one of my cats was missing.
Expensive for a product which is not yet fit for purpose.

New version is great
Had the pet collar a while since our cat went missing and now we can keep an eye on his whereabouts all the time and see how far he likes to roam.

Zero customer support
I purchased a collar and have tried to register on the app but have not received a confirmation email so can’t set up an account. I’ve emailed twice with no response. Not very encouraging if you needed an urgent response if your animal was missing and you had a problem with the app!
Best tracker by far
I have literally tried every tracker and pettracer is by far the smallest and most accurate. With every other tracker you have to charge every few hours with pettracer I can charge it once every few days.
Support is also very helpful altough I wish th set up was easier, once up and running anyone can use it

Just set it up on my computer and iphone. Had a few glitches but played around, deleted and reinstalled the app and now everything works well.

Only allows one login
We have taken on a rescue cat and haves decided to try this device. It seems fine until your wife phones and says she can’t find the cat! There is a one to one mapping between app and collar so there is no way that one of you can find the cat when the other is away. Bonkers!
Unreliable
When it works it’s great, but all to often nothing happens on the app other than swirling green circle around the selected mode.
I so wanted this to work and be reliable since we have just taken on responsibility of a rescued cat. But not a good start, first day it switched itself off before the cat went out but would not show this on the app, the cat went out then trying to switch on the search mode resulted in “place the collar in the base station to switch on”. What a worry. Things have not got any better, we are lucky if the app plays catch up in the afternoon or evening, it seldom works as expected.
Support is absent too, have tried contacting through the only means (email) but am still waiting days later. The live chat states “we usually reply within 2 hours”, not what I’d class as LIVE chat.
I would not recommend this to any cat owner wanting reliability in monitoring a new cats adventure into the wild.

Since this latest update I can confidently assure you all that this really is the finest cat tracker / tracer on the market. Worth every penny. Highly penny.
