Cannot get it off of the floating pill

Absolutely infuriating to use this app. Even if you completely close it by swiping up, it still shows up as “reopen” on the iPhone floating pill at the top of the screen AND on the screensaver screen. You have to “don’t allow notifications” for it to go away, so you either don’t get any notifications at all or you’re constantly harassed by it. Extremely extremely annoying.

Temp graph not working

On the app I can’t see the temp of the grill or the probe after the most recent update. I’m currently run the the most up to date version of iOS as of 8-07-26 other wise the smoker works just fine

You made the app worse

This app used to work pretty well. Now it resets the cooking analytics every time you open it. Please also add a feature where you can adjust the P setting and set a low temp alarm.

Fix the cooking analytics feature it’s literally the only reason to use this app.

Software is broken

The cooking graph no longer works. The app is garbage and Pit Boss should invest some resources in fixing the bugs! I wish I could use an alternative app, but they lock their integration while providing a broken app

Pork butts

The first cook on our new pellet grill, we went all out and cooked a brisket. (Expensive meat) turned out great. We are now on our 4th cook with pork butts. We do 4 butts each cooking. The 850DX with WiFi is the way to go as we always do our cooking overnight and monitor the process on our phone. So convenient! Pellet hopper holds more than enough for the 12 hours cook time.

Thoroughly SATISFIED!

I’ve had my Pit Boss for for 4 years and it has yet to disappoint me! Every cut of meat, every flavor, every cook - even in the winter - it has risen to the occasion. I will certainly buy another one and I urge anyone looking for a wood pellet grill, that also happens to smoke very well, this is your buy!

Works great, mostly

I have a vertical smoker and a grill that I upgraded to the connected control panel. The smoker connected flawlessly, the grill was challenging at first, then I realized that it just didn’t like my router being so far from the grill. I added a WiFi extender and never looked back. The app is easy to use, easy to set up, and the recipes aren’t bad either.

Pork chops

Just grill at 350 for 3-4 minutes per side with no sauce, sauce them then 3 more minutes and they done! So easy

First impressions

I’ve had my 1250 pit boss for almost two months now and it’s my first one. Here’s my experience. Follow the directions closely, especially on shut down. I find that if you have temperature very high it’s best to lower the temperature to around 250 and when it reaches that point put it in shut down mode and you won’t have to worry about back burn. These have a hot spot because of the searing grade. If you cover that area with water trays and cook on the second rack the hot spot is cut down tremendously. Over all I’m very happy with it. It takes some learning but that’s half the fun. My only complaint is the hopper gets dead spots where the pellets won’t fall down and you have to poke it ever few hours to get the pellets to fall. This could be a big factor for an over night cook. I plan to reach out to pit boss because mine came with from what I can tell the old style hoper not the one displayed in the store. If I get this replaced and it solves the issue I will report back.

Cook out

Best pellet grill in have ever used. I have used all of them.

First smoke

App and smoker worked great!! I have a Kamado Joe and love it. I wanted a pellet smoker for my Lake building. I love it!! Great quality and easy to get started on the app!!! Highly recommend!

App not working

Bought a new smoker with the ability to have Bluetooth. App won’t allow to create and account and keeps erroring out

Fantastic app

Does exactly as it should

Keep clean

Long as you clean them about every 3-4 cookings, never have a problem. Cook something with a lot of grease, might wanna clean sooner. Other than that, no complaints. Cook 3-4 times a week on mine. Will catch fire if you don’t keep the grease cleaned out.

Nanni & Smokes

Easy to use having a blast learning at 64😊😊❤️👍🏻

Pork cheek

I am 74 years old. I have owned every kind of BBQ from the Hibuchi to a Big Green Egg. This is the finest machine I have ever had the pleasure of cooking on.
