The saddest day of my life (well, not the saddest, but really sad)
This was an app that kept me going for two years because it tapped into the most basic human tendency of concrete reward seeking and helped all of us capitalise on the simplest of our urges, “fooling” the subscribers into fitness and self care with a promise of a mere Starbucks cup. Well, i was fully aware that it was against my interests, immediately after the reward system was ended, I stopped exercising. It was even sadder because the program was eliminated weeks after I paid for a full membership. Weeks! I’m sad to see that this was not a sustainable model, but boy, I would pay double the membership fees if this incentive program can come back.

Great FREE App to kickstart working out
I have been using this app for almost 2 months and can honestly say it’s probably the most I’ve exercised in a very long time. I am on a 55 day streak meaning I’ve worked out 55 days in a row. I have never done that in my life. I haven’t lost weight but I’ve gone down a full pant size and my body definitely looks more toned. The app is simple and tells you how many reps of each exercise (the same exercises every day) to do each day, which is why I like it. I’m not huge into cardio and this is all easy strength training. The giant CON of this app is a premium subscription promises you gift cards and other rewards and it’s completely false. I am due 2 gift cards and my son is due 1 gift card and we received a message today that they are no longer offering gift cards. So we are just out those rewards now. I highly recommend the FREE App but DO NOT pay for premium.

Fraudulent app!
The premise of this app is that you earn coins for exercising, and then redeem those coins for gift cards or other advertised rewards. I did the exercises, earned the coins (800k), and redeemed them for the promised reward ($45 Aesop GC). Playfitt sent an email confirming my redemption, with a promise of the gift card coming via separate email in 2-3 days. Nope, nothing was ever delivered! I have waited for weeks, and have repeatedly messaged them — they don’t even reply to my messages. In the meantime they’ve been busy working on “app improvements”, including huge increases to the coin requirements for all rewards (bait and switch!), and pushing users to refer friends/contacts to help build the subscriber base while still not fulfilling promises to existing users (pyramid scheme!).
Completely disappointing experience! Proof that cute animation and exercise motivation can’t hide fraudulent business practices.

1 Star Is Too Many
I literally just downloaded this today and it is unusable. Every time I open the app one of two things happen. I either get a screen that says “You already finished a daily goal!” That I cannot swipe, scroll away, or close out of. So I have to exit the app, or delete it from my phone and reinstall it altogether (which I’ve done several times). Or it prompts me to either “get started” or sign in. It won’t accept my log in credentials so I have to start over every time I open the app, which is often because it keeps crashing. I’ve literally only managed to keep it open long enough to make my avatar, but that took several hours due to it continuously crashing causing me to have to start over again and again. I’ve never had such a bad experience with an app, and I was very much looking forward to adding an element of gaming to my workout.

Great concept, cringe delivery
The idea of the app is excellent and it has definitely led me to exercising more regularly. However, the overall experience is honestly kinda cringe and embarrassing. The main splash when entering the app has some person wearing the most ridiculous outfit that’s not even exercise related. The voice in the app to encourage you while you exercise sounds more like some woman trying to do ASMR than someone that’s encouraging you to work out. The little avatar you create does the lamest excitement jump I have ever seen (the one when you complete your daily squat goal - you gotta see it to know what I mean. Bleh!). List goes on. Again, the app is serving its purpose to get me to work out by gamifiying exercise and the chance of earning gift cards. Props on that. But I’m honestly not planning to renew just because of how cringe the experience is.
