What is the problem?

Havenโ€™t been able to try it yet. Itโ€™s a very bad sign when the only way to quit an app is with Force Quit.

Response from developer

Hi there, Iโ€™m so sorry that youโ€™re running into issues using Plinky! I havenโ€™t had anyone report an issue like this before, but Iโ€™d love to make sure I can get Plinky working for you. Can you please email support@redpanda.club where I can help, and I will do my absolute best to get this fixed?

Hi Joe, Iโ€™ve been using the Plinky app and find it very useful for saving personalized social media links to view later. However, I noticed that the TestFlight trial version didnโ€™t require security authentication with my iCloud account. I would like to suggest that in a future update you include the option for Google authentication. This way, I could use the app without needing to enable two-factor authentication on my iCloud account, which I prefer to avoid for personal reasons. Thanks for your attention and for creating such a handy app

No Love for Chrome/Windows

Unfortunately, most people use a world outside of MacOS for various reasons. Even more unfortunately, Plinky devs donโ€™t feel itโ€™s prudent to access/view Plinky links anywhere but in the Apple ecosystem. You can SAVE a link with a Plinky extension for Chrome - but you will not access anything, including what you just saved, from Plinky in Chrome or otherwise on Windows. Itโ€™s a very big world outside the Apple ecosystem and the devs just donโ€™t seem to care about supporting that world.

Response from developer

Hi there, just wanted to follow up on the conversation that we had on Bluesky! It's not that I don't want to ship an Windows or Chrome version, it's that I haven't gotten around to it yet as I build other features people have been asking for such as an offline reader mode, a native Mac app, permanent archives, full text search, highlights, the ability to upload your own files and much more! I very much have it in my plans to make a web app that people can access from any device, but unfortunately there isn't a team of developers here โ€” it's just me โ€” one guy! Promise that your request hasn't gone unheard, but there's a lot of work to do to make everyone happy and I'm trying my hardest to do as much as I can as fast as I can.

Nope

Doesnโ€™t work. Simple as that.

Response from developer

Hi there, Iโ€™m so sorry the app didnโ€™t work for you. Would you mind emailing support and helping me figure out whatโ€™s not working for you? Thatโ€™s definitely not expected, there are thousands of people who are using the app perfectly fine and loving it, so Iโ€™d love to help! You can open the app and go to Settings and tap Contact Support, I would truly love to help make Plinky work and work well for you.

this guyโ€™s marketing alone

actual app~ phenomenal

Lovingly crafted

Developer has put a lot of thought into this app, it is super helpful for organizing what is otherwise a bunch of scattered browser taps into something that I can make very useful.

Super useful!

Great app for organizing my links

Not user friendly at all

I tried tu save a link and it did not ask me which folder I want to save it into. No point in having folders if thereโ€™s no way to organize all the links

Outdated UI

For such a fancy price tag, I didn't expect to see the app have two decades old UI.

Response from developer

Hi there, I'd love to learn more about what UI improvements you would like to see. I built and designed Plinky in the last year so the intention is for it to look modern and in-line with iOS usability conventions, it's actually quite common to hear from people that they appreciate the design. It would be great to hear what you would like for me to improve, so please feel free to email joe @ redpanda.club, and I will listen and personally respond to your thoughts and feedback!

Lovely and addictive

As a 60+ year old Iโ€™m not that much into apps. Plinky won me over by a combination of simplicity, being cute , and ultra practical for my needs. I use it only to store links. What a convenience after all my other attempts to save links and keep them

Great app, in app purchase is broken

In app purchase never works. Just reverts to the screen that asks for money.

Response from developer

Did you happen to get a chance to try the instructions I provided over email support? I would absolutely love to make sure you get a chance to use the product you paid for โ€” I have no intentions (or ability to) make you pay again!

Freezes When Opening

App never opens, crashes whenever I try to open it.

Really helpful app

I really need t grab videos, articles and other stuff i a hurry. Plinky makes that so easy. I am going to go โ€˜Proโ€™ even though I have not yet used up the 50 free links. Well worth having!

Wonderful tool to store your links

Plinky is great, it has a nice "throw in and forget" approach that works well for me. I just send a like (usually from my RSS reader of read later list), if I'm motivated I'll add some tags and put it in a folder, otherwise I'll just do it later.

Love it!

Love the product and Iโ€™ve paid for the extra features. Only thing I would say which I really donโ€™t like about the app is the very loud noise when saving links. Even though my phone is on silent 24/7, this sound is jarring and I had selected the option which is supposed to only play the sound when the ringer is on, but mine is never on and yet it still sounds. This is the only reason for 4 stars rather than 5.

Delightful, Bold, Fun

I love Plinky for saving links! The app is filled with whimsical details, bold chunky type, and fun pops of colour!

The multiple ways to save links make it a breeze to save links whenever and wherever you are. Tags help you to categorise and filter your articles to find things on a particular topic. You can also choose from many icons for your tags to personalise them more.

I also appreciate the responsiveness of the developer, who is passionate about their users and is making a product they love and need for themselves, with care and attention to detail, with the hope it will be useful to others, too.

I like using the app as a digital archive of links I found interesting or may want to check out again later.

I appreciate the roadmap and that you can vote on what you want to see! Plus, Joe makes it easy to request a feature by having a dedicated button for it.
Joeโ€™s crafted an awesome experience here, and the app is well worth subscribing to! Itโ€™s of value to me and a dynamic art piece, showcasing superb app craftmanship that other developers can look up to and be inspired by.

Crashing Issue fixed immediately

IOSPad version crashing problem was fixed. Fixed quickly and thouroughly. The developer responded to my emails and solved the problem quickly.

Response from developer

Hi @mbchamb, as confirmed in our emails the problem where creating a Folder or Tag was addressed and fixed in version 1.0.9. My apologies that you had to deal with this bug, but thank you so much for reporting it to me so I could fix it for everyone!
