Finally!! A PDF scanner that works.
I’ve been trying countless PDF scanners including Adobe Scan, Microsoft lens, built-in iOS notes scanner, etc.
I needed to be able to save my scans to a specific folder in OneDrive on my iPhone and most importantly needed the scanned PDF’s to be searchable. Having the scanned documents searchable is key so that I don’t have to come up with a file name for each scan in order to find what I’m looking for in the future.
All of the other apps that I tried ‘sort of’ worked but all had some sort of issue that kept me from having a streamlined solution. Issues included everything from account sign problems (endless loop) to OCR not working properly.
This Simple Scan App is perfect. It does everything I need. Thank you to the developer(s) :) I finally have a streamlined and searchable paperless solution.
Highly recommend!
UPDATE 2026.09.03
Recent versions have a glitch when saving to OneDrive. The filename field is hidden until you pull down on the screen a few millimetres and then release. It’s an odd glitch that’s a bit frustrating but pulling down only takes a quick sec and then it works. Also, it doesn’t seem to remember my preferred OneDrive folder so I have to drill down to the correct folder every time. Otherwise it’s a great little app that I use every day.

Response from developer
Per the issues you mention: OneDrive cannot be used for saved folder destinations. This is a limitation of the OneDrive app, that only partially supports integration with the Files app. It supports file-level integration, but not folder-level integration. So that's out of our control. The bug with the file name appearing is an iOS bug that has been there since iOS 26 shipped. We have reported it to Apple. You can avoid the need to do that by creating a custom file destination that asks for the file name, which will prompt you before browsing for where to save it. It even provides helpful AI suggestions based on the OCR'd text. Hope this helps!
Best Scanner App in the Whole Damn GAME
If you're focused on saving time and being efficient and having your scans and work-anywhere lifestyle work quickly, then this is the app for you. It's just hands down always works, captures scans quickly and efficiently. I use this app probably 10,000 times a day, I feel like. It's incredible, and the developers need to be praised for thoughtful design and UI. Keep up the good work! Super stoked on this app! A must-have for anyone with a phone. Period. The end. 🤙❤️🙏⚡️💪

Scan made easy
So handy. Scan documentation, invoices, etc. great product
A Staple
One of those apps that should be built in but isn’t. And the developer made it well. Pull it out, use it, move on with your day. Just works. For you have it til you need it. Life wouldn’t be the same without it. Other apps always have some tiny little catch. This one does not. Very “as advertised”
Easy
It does what is says
