Refreshing accounts
Response from developer
Hi there, We’re very sorry for the frustrating experience. Regarding CIBC, there are currently known connection issues with this bank, and our data provider does not have a stable connection with these accounts at the moment. For RBC, please try reconnecting the account using a different data provider. If you run into any issues or need help with the reconnection, please contact us again at support@pocketguard.com and we’ll be happy to assist.

Sync Reliability Lacking
One issue that I have is that if you delete a financial institution, it also deletes all previous transactions associated with it. You don’t have the option to keep previous transactions. So, if you ever change banks or if you need to delete and reconnect a bank (due to sync issues), you lose everything and have to redo it manually. So, for long term budget tracking and planning, this app is less than ideal cuz you cannot retain reliable data over a number of months without the system somehow screwing up.
Response from developer
Hi there, Thank you for your feedback. You’re correct that deleting a linked financial institution also removes the transaction history associated with that connection. As a workaround, you can export those transactions first and then import them into a cash account. After that, you can safely remove the bank connection while keeping the imported transaction history in PocketGuard. Regarding bank syncing, unfortunately, not everything depends on us, as some financial institutions work less reliably with data aggregation providers than others. We’re continuously working to improve these connections. If your bank is still not syncing properly, please contact us at support@pocketguard.com so we can review the connection and, if necessary, escalate the issue to our data provider.
