I am raising a serious concern regarding data privacy and recovery practices followed by the Pocketly app.
I never provided many of my family members’ or contacts’ numbers as references, yet people from my personal contact list were contacted and informed about my loan status. I want to know:
• How was my contact list accessed without clear consent?
• What authority does the app have to contact third parties and disclose confidential financial information?
• How is sharing a borrower’s loan status with family and contacts considered an acceptable recovery practice?
This kind of behavior causes mental harassment, violates privacy, and creates fear among users. Recovery practices should remain lawful and professional, not involve intimidation or contacting unrelated people.
I request the concerned authorities and app platforms to review these practices seriously and investigate possible misuse of customer data and privacy violations.
Users should be fully aware of what permissions are being collected and how their personal data is being used.
