App and Charger thumbs down
I decided to use a pod point charger whilst I went into Tesco during a holiday in Norfolk. When I pulled up I realised I had to install an app which took about 20 minutes due to the fact the mobile network coverage is poor. After that, I then realised I had to deposit at least £10 worth of credit to the account and then go through a load of other faff to start the charging process. So the entire start to finish of the charging process was painfully slow.
The worst bit about it though was the fact the charger was so slow. Given the fact the charger is only 7kw and the maximum time I was allowed to stay in Tesco car park was 2 hours - and also pile on the fact I wasted 30 minutes messing about with the App, I was only able to put about a 9% charge back in to my car. So all in all, pretty useless….
And I’ve also got credit left on my pod point account that I’ll likely never use ….

Hey Janooon1 we know how frustrating this is.. We've heard this before and if it was an easy fix we'd certainly have done it by now! Unused credit
Beware once you’ve topped up it’s really difficult to get any unused credit back. Very unhelpful customer service

Awful app. Not user friendly. Difficult to set up. Find another charger unless you want to spend 2 hours setting it up. Then you have to top up onto this awful app. You can’t just pay to charge your car

Could do with some simple improvements
If you go into debt you can only top up that amount, not more. Which means if you want to use it,you have to go through the process of adding money and importing your card twice.
Theyve removed apple pay.
The charge stations are ordered from available to in use. Which means I have to navigate further to choose the point in using.
Price isn't great.

Public charging
Disappointed with the service. Workplace charging costs are high, but Pod Point offers no loyalty rewards or discounts to help regular users with the expensive tariff.
Connection
Why isn’t most of the utility companies able to connect to a Pod Point charger? These are not cheap. If reading, don’t buy until it works
Bugs reintroduced, and issues. Charges out of schedule and sometimes doesn’t even charge IN schedule
NEW ISSUE 20MAY2026: I DOWNLOAD THE APP UPDATE FROM APP STORE, IT INSTALLS, BUT THEN POPS BACK UP WITH A RED ICON TO UPDATE IT AGAIN. AND ITS STUCK IN AN ENDLESS LOOP OF INSTALLING THE NEW VERSION AND THEN IT TELLING ME WITHIN A MINUTE OF UPDATING IT THAT I NEED TO UPDATE AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!…You “upgraded” the app to “make it look better”, but all you’ve done is change the icon from a nice dark mode icon back to a horrible light mode icon. And you’ve re-introduced the previous bug where when you change the charge time duration it flips back to the previous screen before you can press set. This was a bug in the previous version, then it got fixed, and now it’s back again. What do they pay your tech department for?. It’s crazy. My car still charges now and again OUT OF TIMED SCHEDULE- WHICH SHOULD NEVER EVER HAPPEN. Overall PodPoint has been a clumsy experience. Could be a lot better.

You're right, that shouldn't happen! Somethings not adding up - your charger not adhering to your schedule could be a number of things though... give us a ring on 020 7247 4114 so we can investigate this. Excited to report that the aesthetics of this new version are the smaller part of 4.0.0 upgrade! We've made some chunky under-the-hood changes, thrown in a few bug fixes and improved isolated features throughout the app. If it's still not performing how you'd expect, let us know what & where the app is failing. Would be far too rude of us to change the colour & font but nothing else. We aren't about that.

The latest update has resulted in “Could not claim charge Please try again or contact support.” message displaying when I try to charge.

Simple app
The app is easy to use. Any issues the team in the call centre is helpful and competent.
Octopus
I would very much like to see the Solo 3 charger being compatible with Octopus Intelligent Go. Surely it’s just a little software update.
If there was a minus score for this app I’d be awarding that score.
Where to begin this tale of woe. Don’t use the off switch or you might brick the charger. That’s the advice from the company. When you actually login the system logs you out and doesn’t recognise your details. In my humble opinion Avoid and find another supplier.

Needs to be better
The charge will error semi frequently meaning that you get up for work in the morning with a low charged car. I’ve had to make a dash to a public charge point to get to work on more than one occasion. Also I’ve had the cable locked to the car a few times which has been stressful. Please do better Podpoint

Needs multi-car support
Only just had the Solo installed and works great but it would be nice if the app could handle two cars and two users. My wife is signed in as me but it would be great if we could track usage and settings against each of our vehicles.
Nonsense
So you have to download this dumb app, input all your information and then have to “top up” a fixed amount of money rather than pay for how much you use. I drove off and went somewhere else
Min £10 top up
Just wanted to use this once. 5min of signup/login then you need to top up a min of £10, can’t use with just Apple Pay or a connected card
Connection issue
I have emailed and phoned three times regarding app connection issue. This company has not replied they have asked for my email details 3times despite having my account details I still await a reply or how to resolve

Frustrating
I have to admit I agree with all the other negative reviews. It seems to be random what screens the app presents as choices. The charge stopped repeatedly after a couple of minutes. Ended up unplugging and plugging into another free socket (thank goodness there was one). Still uncertain whether my charge beginning and ending were logged properly. Not a pleasant experience.
