The best app
Photogrammetry to me is one of the greatest things of this century along with drones and of course the two go well together. Gaussian Splats make 3Ds scanning even cooler and it was so wonderful that Polycam implemented Gaussian Splats into the ecosystem right when the white-paper came out of France!

Theft, free trial scam
I set up a weeklong free trial for two users, and canceled the trial the same day I set it up, but after one week Polycam made multiple attempts to charge my checking account $400. They made no less than five attempts and I even contacted them directly and asked them to stop, also contacted Apple support ask them to put a stop to it… Today it finally went through they charged me $400 and there is not even any evidence of a free trial in my subscriptions panel on my iPhone, let alone an active subscription. They have stolen $400 from me. There’s no reason they won’t do it to you too.

Charged me $1600 after cancelling 1 day into 1 week trial period
I downloaded and tried to use the app. It didn’t work well for me. I canceled the trial immediately one day after downloading. One week later I got a $1600 charge on my credit card which I didn’t recognize and figured it was online fraud. I called my credit card company, the company that charged me was Link, I had to cancel my card, which becomes a big problem because of autopay on some accounts. After doing some research later in the day, I realized Polycam charged me $1600. I tried to email them, but the email bounced. Be very, very careful with this company as they charged me after I canceled my subscription and it even showed canceled in my Apple app subscriptions.

Outstanding bang for your buck
Polycam is an incredibly powerful app that turns your phone into a detailed 3D model generator. I use it to create models for 3D printing and it works very well for this purpose. I love that it immediately uploads my scans to the cloud where I can access them on my desktop. The basic plan gives me everything I could need in a 3D scanning tool for a really great price.

Obscene pricing, removing features
What is this pricing? Absolutely ridiculous. Furthermore, they’ve hidden LiDar scaling so thoroughly that they’ve created a dark pattern to make you think you need to subscribe to use a feature that’s built in on your phone
More and more bugs recently
Upload UI glitching and videos not processing easily. Theyre also removing more and more features for basic plans-- seem to be shifting to enterpise / b2b
Not for me
Scans of houses are much harder than other apps like say cubicasa, walls aren’t straight in the plans, some furniture is in some is not and it can’t identify the difference between windows and sliding glass doors etc. love that you get to see the plan immediately it’s just not good enough of a plan to use

Amazing but too expensive
This app has many amazing features that could be considered “futuristic.” It is helpful for professional and recreational uses.
Lots of issues in an ok tool
Even in the “Pro” subscription features as simple as total square footage are reserved for business and enterprise level subscribers- this doesn’t handle grates,windows, mirrors or openings well - especially if large - and an outdoor pergola was impossible - the photo composite even with an iPhone 17 Pro was really weak - even after spending time to capture bottom edges, corners and ceilings for reference - lighting wasn’t the issue. This could be a useful tool but essentially starting at $200/ year it doesn’t have enough functionality for my uses at this price

Doesn’t work
I insured I had the latest iOS and version of Polycam. I have an iPhone 17 Pro. Whenever I try to start a room our floor plan it just continues to say move your phone and never actually begins. I verified that my LiDAR functionality still works with other applications.
Redesign unusable
I no longer use this app. At this point I cannot figure how to do a simple on-device processed lidar scan. It used to be my go-to for teaching beginners photogrammetry. It's gotten so over-complicated. What a shame.

Not very good at all not complete. The images are not coming out properly is that because I need to understand more. And I don’t want to upgrade but my point is if I have to upgrade to get a complete version then I’m gonna refund.
