Got it as a birthday present, installed myself (took me an hour probably).
One of the best presents I have ever got.
It still works perfectly and is mostly in “fire and forget” mode.

Great controller
Easy to use, very user friendly.
Nice controller, does not work with HomeKit.
I spent years trying to get this to work reliably with HomeKit. I finally gave up and switched to a Yardian controller that works perfect with HomeKit. It has the all the same features as the Rachio. Plus, it works reliably with HomeKit.

Great product. Easy to set up and use. Love that it talks to the weather stations and customizes water needs based upon local conditions. Well worth the money.
A smart way to water your lawn
I’ve had the app for approximately two weeks now. The app simply works well. The controls are very intuitive, and I like the way the app controls when to water based on weather conditions. It is simple and easy to use. No complaints.
Good but ignores skips
I like the app but it seems to no longer be able to detect flow and now if you manually skip any day in the future, it ignores it and will go ahead and water the lawn anyways. Nothing new seems to have been added but the app isn’t working as well as it used to.
clunky, unintuitive, time wasting AND tries to upsell you their products
the time required to literally just turn off a running sprinkler when you NEED it off is astoundingly difficult. you try to remove an additional boost then you can’t add another one. all in all, a perfect example of “data driven cloud based solutions” for something that doesn’t need it all
Fix Wifi!
Wifi keeps disconnecting with the latest update. Please fix.
Beware of Weather Intelligence
I was away and see that Rachio did a rain skip twice this week. I connected to the weather underground station in the app and it lets you look at the history. This weather station recorded zero precipitation for the week, yet Rachio skipped watering (and it tells you 30 minutes before while I am sleeping at night so I can’t bypass) I was wondering why my lawn has been brown, now I know why.

Can't Skip More Than One Day Ahead
You can't skip more than one day ahead for schedules. So if you want to skip the next 2 days of a schedule, you can't. You have to do it 2 days in a row.
Absolutely Ingenious!
These new Rachio irrigation controllers are so amazingly simple to operate. You can set programs and operate it from the wall panel but why would you ever want to… ? Every thing is on your cell phone and self explanatory. And the best part, the price. Extremely inexpensive!

The Rachio smart watering system is a very sophisticated system yet simple and practical. The features are amazing. The fact that it can be managed at anytime at or away from home great.
Control and flexibility
We are in a water restricted area so when I have water, I do it in a very strategic manner, and I have the proper sprinkler heads. The ratio app lets me control things down to the minute and I’m able to water in a way that satisfies each zone that I have using the least amount of water at the proper times because of the app…. Definitely a good purchase.

Amazing rain skip
Somehow the Rachio telling me it’s going to skip because of rain is the most accurate weather app in my life. If I want to know if it’s going to rain somewhere I don’t bother looking at the weather app, I just set up a new Rachio sprinkler in that location.

Love the app in general. Wish there was an Apple Watch app but better yet wish it worked in Apple home via matter over thread
