Worse every update
We’ve gone from mediocre to unusable. Sometimes the grill doesn’t show up, sometimes it shows that it’s connected and that changed were made yet when I come check the grill does not match the app.
Pretty good but make the chart easier to bring up!
New app is interesting I don't really feel like there's anything crazy knew it's added but does seem to work and it looks recently nice. I really wish it was easier to bring up the chart though. The chart for the current cook or even the current day is what I want to look at all the time. Now it's two or three clicks to get to it every single time. Not loving that.
It also weirdly always takes a couple seconds to find the grill like it doesn't remember the default grill it's like it does a fresh search for grills each time you open it, but in the end it works fine so that doesn't bother me that much.

Recteq app
Love my new BYB12200 but it would be nice to be able to toggle minutes to hours in the my cook feature of the app. It seems outdated to have to input 1080 minutes instead of just 18 hours for a long cook. I know it is a small thing but for a premium smoker with a great PID controller you would think the app would be better.

Do not purchase
Very difficult to connect and an apparent bug isn’t allowing me to change the target temp.
Bring back remote start functionality
This app now sucks. I used to be able to (as a grown adult making my own decisions) remotely start my grill to get it up to temp. They have now crippled the app functionality.

After updating I can’t connect my grill to the app & it would status the grills condition before removing & re-adding the grill.

Guided cook still fails
They have updated the app, it use to crash everything I tried to do a guided cook, now it just sets the temperature of my grill to 225 no matter what recipe calls for and will not let you change it till you quit the guided cook and force quit the app. Using a dual flame.

Currently app is junk. Things work, so they change it. Let’s make it better. Now notification turns it’s self off and is hard to set. Also grill model is unknown and if you set it, it reverts to unknown
Reasonable app but missing some features
App has worked well and loved being able to manage the temperature in particular from a distance. But, with the recent update, the timer is harder to view and is buried in the app. I would love, if the app would have the timer show up like a normal timer on my phone.
New update is trash
Can’t start a guided recipe from the recipe tab, only from the grill tab. But the guided recipes section on the grill tab has no search feature, no favorites, no way to sort. Ridiculous.
Probe alerts!
Please fix the probe alerts! Without them, I’m not sure this app is useful at all! I miss the old app! The UI was cleaner and everything was great! I don’t like being upsold on more products and I don’t use recipes.
Off button was cool
Why on earth did you remove the very clearly marked off button? Instead, now I see a green power button even when the grill is off (well, I hope it’s off). Edit: they did it. Changed to 5 stars given you listened. Well done.
Bring back the remote on button.
The remote on feature was one of the main reasons i bought this grill. I could preheat the grill from anywhere. My wife would text and ask me to turn on the grill for here on my way home so it would be ready to go when i got there. Sadly you took this function away with the last update.
iPad App
Works better on iPhone but probe alerts still do not work on iPad. Can set the target temp but then it disappears.
Please bring back the older version
This new update is awful. I loved how I could type in the temperature before. Somehow the app turned my grill from 275 to 700 on its own. Thankfully I noticed it after 10 minutes and I didn’t ruin my ribs.
Oh no!
I just started using the updated app after several years of using the old version. Wow this thing is a terrible experience. Yeah somebody made better graphics, but the usability is very poor. Please bring back the old interface.

Please roll it back. The old version was perfect. The UI on this one is less capable, the notification button doesn’t stay on and is aesthetically less pleasing. Old one, 5 stars. This one, 0 if I could go that low
New update
After the latest update my meat probes wont give me notifications, won’t stay on my desired temperature, and is overall harder to use now.
New App Upgrade is Horrible
I like the use of the way the app WAS! Super easy to use, before any of this complicated stuff. Where is the cooking tips for the different types of meat? Instead, you only have the recipes. I don’t want the the recipes unless I do. Maybe I just want some temps and times for type of meat? That was the most used part of the app for me. That and being able to type in my desired temp. Now I have to scroll to get temp, hopefully I’m paying attention and get the correct temp when I set phone down. Sometimes it’s best to leave things alone. Or let people that use the app decide the upgrades. Not some developer that doesn’t use the app!!
