Please consider migrating the lifetime licenses of the classic app

I know that the classic app is still available, but it feels bad to have spent a lot of money only for a new version to suddenly pop up. Please consider that you would make many people happy who have already given you a significant amount of money—and who will now most likely never recommend you to any friends or spend any more money on the new app. All in all, you wouldn’t lose anything, especially if you could stop maintaining the old version, which likely costs you money as well. It would be a win-win for everyone: loyal users get value for their money and stay happy enough to recommend you, while you gain new customers and can sunset the old app.

Speech recognition very buggy

Was forced to move from the old app, so I am doing the free trial. It’s unfortunate that I can not transfer progress or have any guidance on how much to skip based on all the work I did in the old app. The speech recognition is very slow, buggy, and will just not work sometimes for a basic phrase (hello). This means you can’t progress without getting frustrated. I probably won’t pay for this after the free trial. 2 stars as it’s still a fun method, unfortunately the two points above make it a bad experience.

Add a one time purchase option

I was really wanting to learn french and other languages and I was going to buy the option that is a one time purchase for a lifetime I was holding off from it but then when I went back to buy it, it said new subscriptions are not available and to get this app but there is no option and I beg for the developers to add that option.

Voice recognition not working

In certain types of speaking exercises I cannot move forward. No matter how clearly I pronounce, how silent it is in the room am of pronunciation, all of my answers are marked as wrong and I cannot move forward. It is a problem with the app with my phone as has been suggested. Somebody needs to be testing for this. I’m still in the free trial. But if this persists I’m not going to be paying for an app that doesn’t work properly. Certain types of speech exercises do work, but other certain types fail 100% of the time.
Update: pronunciation exercises are impossible. I’m screaming into the microphone and it’s still not picking up on what I’m saying. I end up repeating the simplest exercises over and over again because it is simply not able to process the information. Waste of time.
Of course when I contacted the creators they told me that I had to use earbuds completely silent space. I am in a completely silent space and it works even worse with earbuds with a micro
Also just got to “milestone”. It is absolutely mystifying. There’s the most confusing of photos that are supposed to tell you what to answer but they are absolutely mysterious. A lady sitting with a book on her knees and a thermos on the floor? I cannot guess what you want me to say. A couple in the background and a hand in the foreground? A dog stealing food? Definitely didn’t learn any of this. They may think that they are creating a story that makes sense but they genuinely are not. And the answers they are pull out of thin air are things you did not learn in the lessons.

Here are a few tips for microphone issues: -Wait a few seconds after the tone before speaking. -Uninstall and then reinstall the app. This will empty the cache for the app, and may resolve this issue. -Close other apps or browser tabs that might be using your microphone in the background. -Try moving closer to your microphone, or to a quieter environment. -Try to improve your network connection. Such great improvement in my French!

I have 8 months to learn basics and this has already made me feel more comfortable with basic French!!!! I love how they approach learning and repeating and implementing!

Bait and switch for lifetime holders

I hold a Lifetime Plan Unlimited Languages license. I bought it because Rosetta Stone marketed it as lifetime access to its language learning platform, not to a specific version of an app.

Now the platform has moved to Sapphire, and lifetime customers are told to keep using Classic and pay a new subscription if they want the current product. No migration path, no discount, just a note that we'll be notified "if transition options become available."

That is not what lifetime meant when you sold it. Rosetta Stone honored lifetime licenses through the move from CD to web. It should do the same here. Until there is a real path for lifetime holders, I can't recommend Sapphire to anyone, and I'd caution new buyers that "lifetime" at this company has a shelf life.

Sprachlern App mit ein paar Mängeln

An und für sich macht es Spaß mit der App verschiedene Sprachen zu lernen, allerdings könnte man hier, gerade was die Aussprache angeht noch verbessern, oftmals hängt das Mikrofon Symbol und der Ton für das Sprechen kommt verzögert an somit muss man 1-2sek warten bis man den Text/Satz vollständig sprechen kann.

Unacceptably buggy and non-performant

The content is great, but this is clearly being tested against Chrome/Chromium and not WebKit, and you can really tell. It’s unacceptably bad. Trying to do lessons on my iPhone, my iPad, or on Safari on my laptop is an exercise in madness. The app stalls, can’t hear me speak, and is generally extremely glitchy and glacially slow. It’s very clear the developers are not testing this broadly enough. When I finally tried this in Chrome on my laptop, it was so, so much better. If you’re going to offer something across platforms it needs to actually work on all platforms.

Not Worth the Money Paid

Using this app is frustrating and takes the fun out of learning. The app will stop processing what I’m saying into the mic or maybe it just stops using it. I know it’s not my phone because this issue has happened on 2 separate devices, one of which is brand new. It will hear me clearly for multiple slides and then not at all. I will toggle the mic button a few times, say the word or phrase again each time, yet it still does not hear me. The only fix is to clear the app and start over.
The images are also very vague. Luckily my boyfriend speaks spanish so I can ask him to clarify what the new phrase is in regard to the image. I wish there was actual explanation behind what’s being taught instead of me having to figure it out.

Voice Recognition

So while I do Spanish and I am starting it, I pronounce the words correctly and the voice recognition marks it incorrectly even if it is in a quiet environment. The voice recognition is really strict and is mediocre.

Works for me

I tried another language program and it wasn't structured in a linear way and I found it confusing and difficult to remember words. Rosetta Stone is structured in a really great way for me to learn and retain.

Horrible

Horrible app when it comes to pronouncing words. If the app doesn’t recognize the word you are saying it gets stuck and you have to exit the app and restart from the beginning. It’s frustrating and annoying!!

Cool features and interesting interface, but abysmally TERRIBLE AI photos everywhere…

The new features seem to be wonderful, but I’m also only 2% into Tagalog and (Latin) Spanish. I absolutely despise the constant AI photos and graphics though. I wish there was a way to turn off the AI photos as it’s embarrassing to use out in public…. especially when they’re absolutely terrible AI like the “swimmer” that’s barely touching the surface of the water. I would love to just use the older app to avoid the AI photos, but getting a new subscription there is locked. I miss seeing real people as I do my lessons. The AI photos make it feel considerably less integrated and authentic…. Hopefully a future upgrade offers an option for users to change them to real photos again.

$160 and no download. Very buggy

For 160 dollars I was expecting to be able to download the the lessons to use while traveling line the “other guys”. Nope. Must have internet connection. Audio recognition is poor. I even had a native speaker try to pronounce simple words. No time or reason why it doesn’t recognize the word sometimes and then not for several attempts. Buttons inexplicably don’t function on lessons causing requiring you to exit and return. Servers are oddly slow at times. Not having download capability is the deal killer for me. I’ve used Rosetta Stone before and like the method but this app isn’t fully baked yet. I’d like a refund as I’ve wasted $160

No Offline Use

The dependence on full time perfectly working internet, created lots of bugs on speech recognition. Latency issues and endless annoying repetition problems. No matter how much you try to change your WiFi or 5g. Unless you have a dedicated access flawless access to theirs servers of course. Sad cannot use offline.

Useless

First: Why is there no explanation, how the course works?
Second: while in the Vietnamese course I talked to my husband in German and got the full score- so the „AI“ is kind of useless

Rosetta stone 2.0 ?

Vraiment… on dirait un bête remakes de l ancienne appli, sans vraiment l améliorer, juste en l emballant dans du papier de soie. Les mêmes problèmes avec le vocal. Et les mises en situation bonsoir. À l heure de l intelligence artificielle c est vraiment médiocre ! L ancienne appli a ses défauts mais vous aviez fait un bon boulot. GPT fait mieux et il explique tout , lui. J ai peur pour votre modèle économique et vos emplois les mecs.
