Poor layout and not user friendly

Switched from td to Scotiabank recently and navigating the Scotiabank app is much harder! When you tap on a credit card everything is all laid out, including suggestions such as scotia selectpay (why can’t we get ride of unnecessary ads/buttons). I wish it was tabs instead of everything being on one page (like a tab for pending/posted transactions, a separate screen/tab for statements, etc). Additionally, the “benefits” button is another unnecessary add-on to the screen because once you link your shell that’s it AND it’s on top of your transactions. Another thing that I’m not sure is a bank thing or just a scotia thing, but there are times when transactions dont appear anywhere for a whole day¿ even though my credit limit is lower but I can’t see the transaction:( I hope they change the layout of their pages so it’s easier to navigate :(
Another thing I’ve noticed; cheque are deposited successfully on the first try with TD but dont go through using Scotiabank and keeps saying “make sure the amount matches”???

Great job

Thanks to sandeep help

Este banco es una broma.

La aplicación tiene fallos y está llena de problemas. Contacté con la línea UNE e ignoraron mi solicitud, diciéndome que llamara al centro de atención telefónica en su lugar.

Life of credit

“I feel that your bank has treated me very unfairly by reducing my line of credit without giving me any notice or explanation.

I am extremely disappointed because I trusted your bank. I had a $50,000 line of credit available to me, and suddenly it was reduced by $45,000, leaving me with only $5,000. This happened after I paid off the balance, which makes the situation even more upsetting.

That $50,000 line of credit was very important to me. I considered it part of my financial backup and planned to use it when I needed capital to invest in and grow my business. I paid what I owed because I believed I was doing the responsible thing. I never expected that after paying it off, the bank would drastically reduce my credit limit without warning.

I trusted your bank very much, and I genuinely feel betrayed by what happened. It feels almost like trusting someone completely and then discovering that they have betrayed that trust.

Banks should support responsible customers and give them opportunities to grow, especially customers who pay back what they borrow. Instead, I feel that your decision has taken away an important financial opportunity from me.

I am asking you to please review my account and reconsider restoring my original $50,000 line of credit. I would also like a clear explanation as to why my limit was reduced so drastically without any advance notice.”

Did tou know PayPal can take money out of your account without registering your bank card with them?

Go daddy needed a re-subscription and decided to take $75 from an account that was not connected.

2FA Faulty

The desktop login process is unnecessarily frustrating. To log in on a computer, I’m required to verify the login through the Scotiabank mobile app. I don’t understand why a banking app should be required just to access online banking from a desktop. Neither TD nor CIBC requires me to do this, and I prefer not to use mobile apps for banking.

On top of that, I was once again required to reset my two-factor authentication, and the process was clunky and frustrating. The app also does not reliably autofill my login information from Google Password Manager, despite multiple attempts.

I have a technology background and am very comfortable with computers, so this is not simply a matter of being unfamiliar with the process. The login and verification system needs to be more flexible and should not require customers to use the mobile app to access online banking. Scotiabank also needs to thoroughly test the entire login and 2FA process to ensure it is seamless, reliable, and user-friendly.

Great App

Great App easy to use - allows me to complete my banking with ease and from anywhere

Bills don’t arrive on time

This has happened a few times now and it’s really annoying: bills arrive either on or just after due date. By the time I receive bill it’s late and I’ll pay a late fee. Now I have to go through hassle of calling Visa to waive the fees. SO ANNOYING!

Scotiabank

So easy, convenient and fast to navigate through the app and get things done

Ok

Not to pretty bad.

Constant issues

Mobile app never works properly. Every weekend it seems the ‘can’t display your accounts error’ occurs making your funds unavailable

Don’t recommend

Terrible app , logs me out and I can’t log back in , have to phone them about it and waste time , the app is glitchy , there service fixing app period doesn’t allow you to access your account when there fixing there errors, happens all the time , not a good banking app at all

Scotiabank review

I think it’s extremely simple and easy to use, offering all the features I need and more.
